I don't know if this is old news on ATS or not, but a search did not yield a match, so MODs please feel free to close or delete this thread if it is.

news.com.au in Australia just reported the release of memo's from FBI staff in the 1950's saying that Roswell was reported as a real event to them by the US Air Force.

www .news.com.au

Here is the link to the page on the FBI site.

www.vault.fbi.gov

Have I missed something? Does everybody else know about this?

1950 was a long time after Roswell was dismissed as a weather balloon by the rest of the US.

Or was this Agent Guy Hottel discredited by debunkers like usual? Why would this memo be sent to J. Edgar Hoover if it was a balloon?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Yes, you missed the other three threads on this today.

But don't worry. I didn't see the other two before posting on the third.

It IS the worst search function in the history of the web...thats for sure. That's why I always hit recent posts when logging on. Two pop up just on the first page..

Just type in key words from what you want to post. I just typed in fbi vault, and they all came up. Hope this helps

Thanks, I typed in quite a lot in all three parameters but not "vault", sounds like that was the problem.

Cheers

Yeah no big deal, and i usually just type in what i want in the first parameter, that seems to yield better results.
