Hi ATS, I suggest poll boxes for threads

The title sums it up, I think it'd be pretty cool if the OP of threads could create some kind of poll box that ATS members could use to vote with. For instance.. Do you believe in aliens? Yes or no.

Instead of having 100 pages of people saying yes and no, why don't we have a poll? ATS revolves around opinions and with the poll box people could easily inject the thread with their 2 cents, I think it'd cut down on useless one liner posts (myself included).

It's been suggested many times..
The problem IMO is that sites like this look for post count..
A simple poll would probably mean less posts..

Maybe if after you would check yes or no a box could come up and you would have to defend/explain why you voted that way. But then that would just lead to another mega thread perhaps. I dont know just a thought. If your not thinking, your not trying.

It's a discussion board... eliminating discussion is counter productive

Actually, you're incorrect. What we look for is meaningful participation, which is why we discourage single line, "me too" type posts.
