Thank you for pointing that out. It was very broad. Most of the lobbying in Congress is for corporations that put profit over people. There should be a system that allows a redress of government on behalf of citizens and limits set for corporations. They do deserve to petition the government for change. The system in place basically allows politicians to be bought off. I'm not sure how to go about a change like that but I'm sure there are people with some great ideas.

I also think Citizens United should be overturned because it allows anybody, any corporation (foreign or domestic) and even other governments , through various channels, to make or break a candidate by throwing unlimited money into an election. Now our elected officials are beholden to the financial backers for fear of having any kind of future in politics or business.

I also agree with your comments about "term limits". Anybody can be voted out of office. Its too bad most voters are basing their decisions on name recognition and not doing any research into any candidates before going to the polls.

With that said are there any ideas or changes you would to see considered by the POTUS? I do realize there is zero likelyhood the president will see any of these posts, but it is a good discussion and I would like to see more input.

I had a friend that worked there when they first started. I haven't seen Homeland Security make any difference at all in the safety of this country. It has been the average American Citizens on a plan taking down some idiot trying to set his shoe or underwear on fire. Time Square, it was Americans that reported to NYPD, and if not for them Time Square would have been another 9/11. And then Homeland Security has the nerve to make the average American appear as potential terrorist. Stripping childern in the middle of an Airport; pulling people out of wheelchairs, and grabing people in their privates. No one could have made me believe anything like this would ever be happening a few years ago.

Who would you vote for the President of USA?

This kinda guy who has the courage to face up TPTB....

.....or.....

This guy, who bows to mass murdering tyrants?
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/074de71faea9.jpg[/atsimg]

President Obama had tried his best and achieve not all but a few of his promises. He had several opportunities to lead and uplift the nation in these tumoultous times, yet he held back when leadership is called for, many more times not due to the leash, but self preservation.

He fully supported climategate and carbon tax, when he knew it was a lie. He kept silent when the Nazi HSA took over the land.He still insisted on FREE trade, when fair trade is required.Hands tied, he turned away when GOP continued with its support for the bailout of banksters while americans live in tents.

He had his glory. He had achieved Healthcare for everyone. He authorise and supported the call for help from the Libyan masses, even though it was UK and France that led. He should save up on the campaign funds, for many americans are suffering, and give it to them instead, and then lend support to Mrs 'Mama' Hilary Clinton. She was the one that shone through it all with her take no nonsense approach around the globe's hotspot and with such attitude, would work far better if not similar with domestic issues.

The years are continuingly going to get worse, with Earth changes and social turmoil caused by the financial and power greedy few grown global. It needs a strong man and a leader on the helm, someone whom have the courage to take that call at 3 am. It is none other than Mrs. Hilary Clinton, if she would run.

The GOP are a spent force, for their outright and blatant lies can no longer be hidden. Their actions were unconscionable and every hurt and affected american knows it. And the GOP knows it as well. Thus their new tactics, - both parties are equally bad, so that the leadership of an American People will be in further turmoil.

Such tactics remind me of the tale about King Solomon's decision over a paternity suit brought by 2 mothers. Solomon decided to cut the baby in half as a fair decision so that both gets it. The false mother was appeased, but the true mother gave up and surrendered her claim so that the baby would go to the other woman and live.

The GOP reminds me of the false mother.

Ron Paul seems to be a good republican bet, but watch out for his record. He could never control what he had created and ended issues into one big mess. He started the Tea party well and good, but it got contaminated and rendered useless and a mouthpiece for other agendas than the noble ones Ron had in mind for. He could have disbanded it, but he did not, and today, the tea party lies in ruins.

hey i'm with ya on that. just a question. they're just another example of the bureaucracy that is so detached from real life, thinking that managing human beings is better then letting them manage themselves.

I would be much more interested in Obama's
polygraph of the events discussed.
But that won't come to fruition either.

As long as he is aware of this man, which Im sure he is, I treat a non-response as an admission of guilt. Moreso if Larry took one of his own beforehand.

And ideas are what we need. We need statesmen, not politicians.

Eh, I don't want to derail your discussion points nor the OP with debating this one. Maybe we will meet on a different battleground in regards to Citizen United and the murky job that journalism did on that one (in my opinion of course!)

I also agree with your comments about "term limits". Anybody can be voted out of office. Its too bad most voters are basing their decisions on name recognition and not doing any research into any candidates before going to the polls.
Yep. I think that tide is starting to change. Ebb and flow...

I have plenty!

While I agree with your assertion we should bring our troops home, I do contend we maintain two bases (Japan and England). All else is virtually pointless with today's military capability we retain. From battle-groups to squadrons of C-17s and some tankers....we can put boots/supplies/armor on the ground anywhere within 24 hours.

- Those two countries still give the United States a substantial sphere of influence and it reduces our foreign bases. Japan and England are also our two staunches allies I believe.

End the FED....don't really have to expand that one I am sure.

Bring some serious tax-reform. FairTax or something similar (only if and it is an absolute ONLY IF...the IRS and the Income tax are abolished...otherwise it would be disastrous.)

- With this, you would see money become less important in politics. It would still play a part, but without politicians being able to play with the People's money, big companies would rather go back to lobbying the consumer. Can't really blame them for following the money I guess. Dog eat dog world.
- Might deal with a portion of that lobbying issue....

Department of Education. Since its creation there has been no discernible improvement in the education of Americans yet we keep dumping money into this. Why? I feel like Bill Murray in regards to this issue....

Repeal the Patriot Act.

Revisit the 17th Amendment. It is my opinion we need to return the Senate back to the States. They are a vital part of the Republic and yet they play no part within the Federal Government. On paper we have two Houses, but in all, they are both the Peoples' House now and the Senate is extremely powerful.

- It is easier to sway with cash two senators, not beholden to really anything except a majority of voters in their state (which usually amounts to what? 35% of actual voters?) to make bills.

Here is the kicker. I wouldn't be telling this to the president. All the above he has no power to change except to persuade the will of the People with the bully pulpit. This is an issue for Congress. People need to understand and stop with this incessant desire and view that a president wields such powers. Products of that wonderful education I suppose.

The carbon tax is an interesting dilema. The idea of the carbon tax makes great sense. But for it to make great sense, you need the entire world to be on the same page.

President Obama clearly lives in one of those Utopias where he is king sh!t and all others will listen.

Fact: You are not a leader when you run up your credit card debt and are unable to pay back your creditors in a reasonable timeframe. No one will respect you and no one will follow in your footsteps. Others will continue to polute and bury you in the sand economically.
