Thompson added, “Janet Napolitano is lying to the American people when she says the Report is not based on ideology or political beliefs. In fact, her report would have the admiration of any current or past dictator in the way it targets political opponents.”
The Report specifically mentions the following political beliefs that law enforcement should use to determine whether someone is a “rightwing extremist”:
* Opposes restrictions on firearms
* Opposes lax immigration
* Opposes the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship and the expansion of social programs
* Opposes continuation of free trade agreements
* Opposes same-sex marriage
* Has paranoia of foreign regimes
* Fear of Communist regimes
* Opposes one world government
* Bemoans the decline of U.S. stature in the world.
* Upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India

The Law Center is asking the court to declare that the DHS policy violates the First and Fifth Amendments, to permanently enjoin the Policy and its application to the plaintiffs’ speech and other activities, and to award the plaintiffs their reasonable attorney’s fees and costs for having to bring the lawsuit.

That's because you don't know anything about the U.S. The U.S. IS NOT a democracy... In a democracy 51% of the people can take away the rights of the other 49%, or the government can claim it can take the rights of the people by claiming they were chosen by a mayority... The U.S. is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.edit on 7-4-2011 by ElectricUniverse because: (no reason given)

As much as I agree with your statement, you do know most Americans have no idea what a Republic style governance is, right? In a Republic US Congressmen/women would NOT vote along party lines, they would vote strictly towards the will of the people in their district/state. So for all for all the fluff of being right, the United States has been hijacked into believing we are a democracy… and mob rule is just fine on Capital Hill… unless and until that mob is the electorate, then one judge can throw the Constitution and the will of the American people on its ear, because only when it can be used to silence the will of the people, then and only then are we a Republic. For all intense and purposes the United States has become a democracy, and until the people are deprogrammed to learn the difference between what we have and what our founding fathers actually wanted, our constitution will continue to be ignored and destroyed.
