I remember when David Letterman used to be funny. He was good and funny when he was slapstick and loose. Now he's trying to be too serious. Somehow
he thinks he's still being funny. A good joke is a good joke whatever side of the aisle a comedian is pulling a punchline. He's just not funny
anymore. He's coming off sounding like a cranky old man who used to be a good slapstick comic. If Letterman was starting out in show business today,
with the jokes he's trying to tell, he'd be pumping gas back in Indiana.
Leno became half way funny when he got his own television program. Before that, Leno took chances. He was funny back then.
Where is a Lenny Bruce when the audience needs one?
