My HOPE Platform for this Canadian Election.

It's not hard to see that this election will be run by an American theme. Just see the Conservatives attack ads. OK, I can't change that so let's go with it. Obama ran his campaign on HOPE. We can too. Here it is: Harper Outta Power Expeditiously. Let's look at Harper, the lying, hypocritical sack of bat guano. Remember, attacks are OK. Hey, he started this.

His main theme is:

What he want you to have hopefully forgotten is:

His explanation of this?

Layton and Duceppe say what they had in mind was Harper heading a government, with their backing. Without having to win an election. Exactly what he accused Ignatieff of plotting now.

Harper said he intended nothing of the sort. And for two days, he wouldn’t clarify just what “options” he’d wanted the GG to consider. Then, on the campaign’s third morning, he offered an explanation. “I would have told the governor general, ‘We in fact are not trying to bring the government down. All Mr. Martin has to do is sit down and talk to us and I’m sure we will find a resolution.’ ” In other words, he hoped the GG would urge Martin to play nice. Is that in the vice-regal job description? Not according to University of New Brunswick parliamentary expert Don Desserud. Ned Franks, Queen’s University’s resident sage on Parliament, called the Prime Minister’s explanation “utter nonsense.”

Now how about that little thing about his government being in "contempt of Parliament"? What do you have to say to the people about your abuse of the parliamentary procedure Stevie?

Sorry, can't find this story online at this time. I have a hard copy at work though and will produce the text and links tomorrow but it still comes from Maclean's. When asked about the contempt charge he starts to answer and then says, "This election is about the economy." Basically dodging the question.

Yeah, I agree, but are the alternatives any better?
Granted Ignatieff seems like a bright guy, but he needs to put a filter between his head and mouth, he's blurted out some of the dumbest things...
Don't even get me started on Layton... I wish there was a "none of the above" option... I think I'm going to vote Green Party LOL

Iggy is an academician not a politician. That's why he steps in # so often. He's got a month to learn. Hell I'd run but my past is too checkered.

Truth is that so far the PC campaign has been mostly mud-slinging about Iggy's dumb quotes. So I give credit to the Liberals and NDP for actually campaigning on their platform instead of bitching about Harper and his helter-skelter shady facade

On that attack ad thing... isn't it disgusting that it actually works with Canadians? I swear they are putting some sort of anti-depressant in Tim Horton coffee the past few years.
