Where or where are all the poor people going to get that kind of money to get Obama re-elected? I mean, a dollar per homeless person? That's two billion homeless people. There aren't that many homeless people in America.

But, even if there are, you pay for it. You drop that dollar into the homeless person's tin cup on the corner. More of that trickle down economics at work.

That, or get two billionaires to back Obama. Which is more than likely how the system works.

At that level, candidates would spend as much to win the White House as the Walt Disney Co. spent on U.S. advertising in 2009, according to Advertising Age.

Wondering how much it costs per day to keep fox news (elect the right wing) channel up and running...advertising costs, etc...mix that with the koch, waltons, opec, and prince funds and you got a pretty incredible sum of money going towards the other side.

So, obama makes his dosh off of the people tossing 20 bucks at him, some union backing, and perhaps a bit of soros...comparatively, its about equal, if perhaps lacking a little (gamechanger is donations by the people themselves).

But ya, I see what your trying to do...yes, obama is using money from homeless and billionares, meanwhile bachman and co will be using money they made working at mcdonalds to fund their entire campaign...lets pretend thats real.

what job allows you to send an entire army in on people whom annoy you? its the perks man, the perks...

Sure, only pays under half a mill, but the parking spot alone...

I dun'no...but the two billion in taxpayer dollars Obama spent on Brazil's Petrobras oil giant, of which Soros is a major investor, sure does pay for a GREAT parking space in my book.

Anyway, it's good to see that the poor and some of the middle class are thinking socialism, while Obama and Soros get rich the old fashioned way: capital investment.

Except how many can use taxpayer dollars for their capital investment. Wooowee...That's some hafty parking spot. Yes, sirree.

Being the BOSS of 22 million people is better than being the 'BOSS' Springsteen, maybe?

Cause there's twice as many people working for the government was there are working for manufacturers.

But, hey.....we buy from China, right? They have plenty of manufacturing workers.

You've got to love bureaucracy over assembly line production any day.

.We've Become a Nation of Takers, Not Makers
More Americans work for the government than in manufacturing, farming, fishing, forestry, mining and utilities combined..

I'll ignore the fact that this thread is filled with blatant political trolling and try to make a point.

I've always believed that the campaigning process is becoming wildly overblown in this country. In fact, it's basically the way the elite manage to control who actually becomes president. Facing such enormous sums of money, it's virtually impossible for a normal citizen to seek office. It's hard to have a valid representative republic when we don't really have a true representative to vote for.

There should really be a $1 million dollar limit or something. Campaigns should not be races to spend money, give speeches and pander to crowds. We should be electing candidates based on their principles and their stances on issues, not based on who can spit out the most TV commercials.

Speaking of FEMA camps, we finally located the FEMA camp around here in the high desert area. Everyone knew there was a FEMA camp...somewhere. People were driving up and down the streets looking for the new FEMA camp. Was it near the police station? Was it near the military academy? Was it out by the old and now abandoned Atlas Missile Silos?

No. It's out by the airport. Underground. The underground bunkers that were originally being used as a potential military strike headquarters in times of national emergency (like they were used for 9-11) has been remodeled and turned into an underground FEMA camp.

Well, hell. There's so much going on underground anymore, why should anyone be surprised the FEMA camp is subterranean. Everyone was slapping their heads when we realized the obvious.

We laughed and laughed and laughed.

Why?

Because putting up a huge financial barrier like that is how the rich make sure only people they approve of even have a prayer of getting elected.

"Its called a barrier to entry" and its meant to make a mockery of democracy.

So much for the bleating about how much democrats care about people. 2 billion dollars could give 50,000 people the median income of $40,000. Or think about the lives that could be saved spending it on real healthcare.
But of course, politics and the power to get ahold of other people's money is much more important and productive for them.

The money the politicians get is a lot worse than the money the bankers/ corporations get, imo. If the politicians couldn't get it, the bankers/ corps probably wouldn't either. (yeah, I know. master of the obvious)

You've got to admit that Bill Ayers, Jeremy Wright, Al Sharpton, Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan are a few names who've made out pretty good since Obama was elected. Not everyone is suffering on the left. Just 99 percent of the leftists.

Amoung others! I'm convinced that much of the motivation behind pushing this socialism crap is that the "faithful" believe that they will be party apparatchiks when the Revolution(TM) comes. (Oh wait. Looking at the govt expansion ie SEIU, that's already shaping up nicely) They'll be the first to tell you that this is "their time".

Well, that, and the less ambitious amoung them wear living like pigs like some kind of badge of coolnicity- rats, roaches, porch falling off- the works.
Considering the venom spewed at "the wealthy" and the jet set lifestyle their celebrityships haved enjoyed since taking root in the WH, it's obvious that only the party elites are allowed to have money. *Nothing's* too good for them.

The simplest explanation to the Obama/Soros Socialist agenda is that liberals actually believe they will NEVER run out of other people's money.

The printing presses will continue to churn out those one hundred dollar bills....the most popular bill coming out of the mint.....and those one hundred dollar bills will continue to be worth, oh, a hundred dollars?

Liberals wonder why the Wall Street Wizards continue to take advantage of them. Taking advantage of welfare liberals is no more difficult than taking a hammer to a plastic piggy bank.

Considering that Fox News has a viewership that outnumbers MSNBC and CNN combined, means that Fox News pulls in more money from advertisers, which means Fox News can afford to spend more money than MSNBC and CNN combined.

Besides, guys like Rachel Maddow and Ed Hardball (or whatever his name is) get paid under the table through the liberal Democrat party to be Socialist mouthpieces. While more Socialist Liberals are watching Punk'd than they are watching MSNBC and CNN combined.

Begs the question...does an incumbent President really have to do a lot of "campaigning"? I mean, we know who he is, and what he's about, after 4yrs in office...

The only real "campaigning" will be answering attacks. Just seems hard to justify.
