I don't know what was up with your event, all I know is that the hole is currently over Scandinavia, so I doubt one has anything to do with the other.. Has it been warn in Sask lately? We've been above normal here in Ont, but not excessively so. I don't know too much about lightning, but I've seen something like what you explained in mid-summer, it was heat lightning.

All I know for sure is that article I posted from the Montreal Gazette jarred me, although they said no cause to worry. My daughter is 'allergic to the sun' as the doc put it. She's extremely sensitive to UV and since the ozone isn't what it used to be, it's getting worse. She can't even go in the shade without sunscreen on, she gets hives from sun exposure!

Even if this Ozone thing has nothing to do with any prophecies of crops scorching, it still does not bode well for people who are sensitive to UV like my daughter.
