I just have not heard, until now, anyone stepping in and actually making a sacrifice. Specifically petroleum companies, who have been enjoying their
most massive profits in years.
But all of this reminds me of something that happened about 10 years ago:
I was taken to a poorer part of Hollywierd once by a screenwriter friend who said he 'wanted to show me something.'
So we pull in and park and he points out this kind of shady looking guy in hat and sunglasses pulling the occasional person aside and talking to them.
When he is done they go into the store. This happened repeatedly while we watched.
Then he took me over there. The shady looking cat was Robert DeNiro handing out $100 bills to people who looked like they really needed it.
I just go from disgust to love of the human race 5 times a day.
