Judge Nap: Let me encourage to each of you, to jump in on this so we can have a conversation btwn the 3 of us, but to Congressman Kucinich first; why are we dropping bombs on Libya?! is it oil, is it Military Adventurism, is it part of some grand scheme, is it George Bush’s 3rd term? … Why do you think we’re there?!

Kucinich: I don’t even know how we can get to that, until we by insisting that the Obama had no right do that, that what he did was AGAINST the Constitution Article I, Section 8, that it even EXCEEDS the war powers act, that it EXCEEDS UN mandate and that we have a presidency right now that is dangerously close to being a imperial presidency because what the White House is doing is essentially is nullifying the role the Congress has.

Judge Nap: What is the Congress going to do about this Congressman Paul; is there anger, is there acts there that a bunch of Arab dictators, called the Arab League, that he went to a bunch of NATA ministers in Belgium, and a bunch of ‘one-worlders’ on the upper east side of NY called, UN Security Counsel but, never went to the Congress?!

Ron Paul: Well, more than usual that’s good, but I don’t think there’s enough, I don’t see our leadership on either side of the aisle demanding that we do something and bring it to a vote and show where we exactly stand on this. So I’m afraid we’ll slip into another war again and that’s very unfortunate us. As for why we’re there, choosing on motive, I think it’s a form of Neo-Colonialism, and is part of the Neo-Cons efforts to re-make the middle east and the whole world. You ask about troops in Libya and they fib or lie about that like.. “Oh the CIA, aren’t troops” but yet they’re the ones that launch the bombs and the missiles.

We have SO many troops in so many places so it’s a philosophy of “intervention”; we have troops in 130 countries, 900 bases around the world, that’s where the real problem is and now some people are saying ..”well, Libya is different and we should do it and that’s very good but, some times partisanship,” But the way we’re doing this isn’t as good as GB did it so we have to think strategically as well as the process we go through.

Judge Nap: To Congressman Kucinich, I’m a little a little bewildered here, of the silence of the leadership in both parties, and in both houses. Could it be that Quaddafy has been demonized that they really want him taken out? Could it be that they WANT this war? Could it be that, big government party like most of the DEM and most of the REP LIKE war after all and so they want to look the other way when the President VIOLATES the Constitution & drops bombs on people?!

Judge Nap: I’m not sure, but I will tell you this as a DEM, that our leadership had the obligation the minute they were notified by Obama that he intended to anticipate an attack on Libya. Our Leadership had a responsibility right there to tell the Obama “Wait a minute Mr. Pres. YOU can NOT do THAT, w/o going to the entire Congress. This is the complaint I have about the DEM leadership and frankly, as members of Congress, it’s not our right to give away and was put in the Constitution @ the beginning of this country so that there’d be checks and balances and we’re moving those checks and balances aside in favor of a imperialistic President.


Judge Nap: Congressman Paul, I agree entirely w/ Congressman Kucinich, this is how freedom is lost! The President bombs and kills, takes power from the Congress under the Constitution, the Congress does NOTHING about it, and then future presidents’ use what the current pres is doing as precedence for that behavior. This is how the Constitution is manipulated, this is how freedom is lost and lives are lost and there are no consequences!!!!

Paul: and it’s been going a long time, and one of the most amazing things. The founders would be dumbfounded how easily the Congress gives up it’s responsibility and prerogatives and yet we continue to do it~! It isn’t sort of, a complacency or lack of an effort but sometimes it’s positive. Members of Congress in leadership have WANTED to give these responsibilities because they believe in a strong Executive. So we in many ways have given up on the belief of limited government and smaller government and regional government and we have gone toward the ‘Empire’ and strong Exe. Branch and that is very very discouraging and unless we break through on this we’ll be in big trouble.

The only place that Dennis and I talked about is that we do get a lot of encouragement from our young people and we holding out a little bit of optimism.

Kucinich: Let me break in on this on what Paul says about reaching an Empire is absolutely right! What we have to keep in mind is, an Empire is a big ticket item and it’s really beyond our ability to pay for it.

Court Indicts Bush on High Treason Charge

WASHINGTON (AP) — George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, was indicted Monday on charges of high treason. The charges, filed by Attorney General Russ Feingold late in the evening, allege that Mr. Bush, knowing full well that Iraq possessed no weapons of mass destruction, falsified information in order to pursue the disastrous Iraq War. (See “U.S. Knew No W.M.D.s in Iraq,”

Federal District Judge Michael Ratner denied Mr. Bush’s request to represent himself. Ratner is the former president of the Center for Constitutional Rights.

High treason is usually defined as participation in a war against one’s own country; attempting to overthrow its government; spying on its military, its diplomats, or its secret services for a hostile and foreign power; or attempting to kill its head of state.

“In this case, high treason has been interpreted to include pursuing an illegal and devastating war that has cost hundreds of billions of dollars and the lives of over 4,000 Americans and perhaps a million Iraqis, for essentially insane ends,” said Vincent Bugliosi, a former federal prosecutor whom Feingold named lead special prosecutor in the case. “In effect, the Iraq War amounted to a war against America,” added Bugliosi, who is also the author of the book, The Prosecution of George Bush for Murder.

Although the treason indictment came as no surprise to most observers, what was completely unexpected was the party who brought it.

“The case is highly unusual in a number of ways,” said Bugliosi, “not the least of which is that the defendant is actually accusing himself.”

In a press conference held close to midnight yesterday at his Crawford, Texas ranch, former President Bush cited his renewed Christian faith as the catalyst for this unprecedented action. “Last month, I had a conversation with Jesus Christ. A new conversation. And I’ve been very blessed to have been born again, again. This time, for real,” Mr. Bush read in a prepared statement to half a dozen stunned reporters.
“It’s taken a lot of soul searching, or more like deep-soul diving, I think is the term. But now I see that it was wrong to lead our nation to war under false pretenses. Millions have suffered for my sins, and I see now that it is only fitting that I should suffer as well.”

Mr. Bush’s self-accusation seems largely to have been plagiarized from years of accusations made against him in the press. It refers to his “political propaganda campaign to sell the war to the American people,” and describes how he and his team attempted to make the “W.M.D. threat and the Iraqi connection to terrorism appear certain, whereas in fact we knew there wasn’t one at all.”

“The death and economic collapse that resulted has been completely devastating to our nation and, most of all, to me,” read Mr. Bush’s indictment. “I want to make amends, and it is for this reason that I am requesting that I be indicted for high treason. I thank the court for allowing me to right my grave wrongs. Bring it on!”

Some analysts suggest that Mr. Bush’s self-indictment is part of a strategy to avoid the death penalty. Although treason carries a potential death sentence, Mr. Bush and his team of attorneys are seeking a triple life sentence without possibility of parole.

“We don’t want to be too cynical about Mr. Bush’s motives,” said a spokesperson for AfterDowningStreet.org, one of the main groups that had been pursuing Mr. Bush’s indictment. “But even if it doesn’t get moved to the I.C.C., requesting his own conviction is so unusual it could move some jurors, or even help with an insanity plea.”

A friend of Mr. Bush, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that Mr. Bush would attempt to move the case to the International Criminal Court, which does not have a death penalty, and was quietly pressing Secretary of State Naomi Klein to bring the U.S. under the court’s jurisdiction. In 2002, then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld rejected the I.C.C.’s jurisdiction, saying it was “unaccountable to the American people.”

Mr. Bush maintained his characteristically jovial manner throughout the proceedings. “I could be executed, but what good would that do anybody? Especially me. I think the nation would rather I spend a good long while considering what happened — not only the tragic end of hundreds of thousands of lives, but the end of American capitalism, that I liked, I sincerely liked,” Mr. Bush said. The treason charge does not address compensation for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed in the war. It is expected that surviving family members of fallen American soldiers will file thousands of civil lawsuits alleging wrongful death.
