How big is the Middle East?

Sorry for misplacing a topic but this is a question I must know the answer to.

How big is the M.E. in square miles and what would that square mileage be the equivalent to in terms of size of known land.

This is just for research.

P.S.- Give size estimations to already known lands, i.e., Russia is almost two times the size of America.

Depends on how you define the "Middle East".

Probably easiest to pick which countries you consider ME, add their square areas together, and then you have it.

On the Wikipedia article for "Middle East" there is a chart which lists every country (depending on whether you want the "traditional" or "greater" definition of "Middle East") and its square footage. Surely, you can handle the rest, right?
