there's currently even a cornell paper, and other papers generally about seismic activiyt/alignments, too, about the same theory of 9nania. stick to debunking that. i say alignments correlate to things, and we don't know why yet. you say because you don't know why, there is nothing to see here...move on. that's fine! but stop attacking people's reputations. you shouldn't have to. i can attack NASA's reputation as a lying pr front, too

Um someone can be uber-Christian and think they're enlightened via that, but she had a METHADOLOGY a THEORY.
Her methodology was to receive psychic messages. Have you actually watched her videos? She then copied the JPL Orbital Plotter riff from Terral... without even giving him due credit. That's plagiarism.
Why do you continue to oversimplify her predictions, if you're so sure of your opinion? You are discrediting her reputation, not her actual theory/methadology.
Again, her methodology is psychism. Her actual theory is that the world is going to experience a physical and spiritual cataclysm, and she "borrows" material from a wide range of websites specializing in fear mongering to create her alarmist videos.
As well, astropatriot - you don't find it suspicious an anonymous person posted on G L P he was arrested fo ra sex crime? I mean, come ON. like someone wasn't put up to that ?????
I have my own theory about that, actually. I think Lucus deliberately cast AstrolPatriot out of his little clique because he was a loose cannon. Lucus, Terral and other members of the Doom Squad have a very specific message that they are propagating: "NASA says..." "Scientists confirm..." a Brown Dwarf star is coming! All of their claims are being phrased to make it appear that these statements are emanating from the "scientific establishment" and confirm the Ancient Prophesies, especially those found in the "Kolbrin Bible," (available on-line at a modest cost). AstrolPatriot's assertions undercut this official line. He claimed Elenin was not in the right place, for example. If it was not in the right place, then the JPL browser earthquake scam doesn't work, does it? His knowledge of astronomy was so poor, it made his fake videos look ridiculous, which in turn made the group look ridiculous. He had to be disowned, and discredited. Face it, ufo, even the Doom Squad knows AstrolPatriot is a transparent fraud.
Meanwhile, oldcorp teases an elenin video for weeks, says he's hitting roadblocks, says he fears for his safety eeven....and the nhe never posts video...ATS is involved (known for disinfo) all the way through
Yes, OldCorps teasing has been noted. The "roadblocks" he has been encountering seem to be problems with uploading to ATS Media... problems I myself have had. I suspect that if he were willing to edit out the ATS logo (which implies "official endorsement" that the Site Owners are probably unwilling to give for branding reasons) he could have posted his video on YouTube weeks ago. He is probably reluctant to do this because the astronomer he interviewed said exactly what all of the astronomers on ATS have been saying: it's all rubbish. He then looked through the telescope at a couple of the requested co-ordinates and saw exactly what the star maps said were there. No Nibiru, Elenin is just a fuzzy little blob.
and another person looking for info - no astronomer will talk to him.
That would depend upon how they approached the astronomers, wouldn't it? If they run up to an astronomer in a parking and shove a camera in their face and scream: "Tell me the truth about Nibiru!" they will understandably be escorted off campus.
and nasa puts out junk debunking of this, oversimplifying solar activity and oversimplifying the Planet X debate...never mentioning the real planet xs they keep tyring t ofind, tyche etc (just don't even MENTION) and then sya the mayan long count calendar begins again on JAnuary 1st.... NOT TRUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You seem to be jumbling a lot of things together in your mind.

Do you see how you've fallen for the Doom Squad's disinformation campaign? There is no-one at Cornell who published a paper about seismic activity and planetary alignments. That is a slander against Cornell University. Mensur Omerbashich is not in any way affiliated with Cornell; he just posted his ridiculous paper on its open access server. I say "ridiculous" because its methodology is seriously flawed. He arbitrarily chooses earthquakes of a magnitude that has a probability of occurring every three days, then matches them up with the positions of various bodies in the solar system, giving himself a three day window for his "alignments." The bodies and alignments he chooses are not consistent, and he makes no attempt to falsify his theory by looking at instances when the bodies form the same alignment on days when there weren't earthquakes, and vice versa!
I'm sorry if you consider clarifying things to be a personal attack.

The cornell paper is just that, it's a paper. Not a peer reviewed article.
The author of the epaper has a reputation for not being accurate, his website details leave more questions unanswered than answered, it certainly does not seem as if he is telling the truth.
Here is a good response to the paper from a scientist from my home town.
astroblogger.blogspot.com...
Ha! Who cares if she copied the orbit diagram?? Wtf? She says she was inspired by Christianity to see the truth, and used historical disasters and recent alignments for her theory, Stop oversimplifying. THERE;s NO NEED TO IF YOURE CORRECT.
So what if she adds her own fantastical interpretation to things? You wouldn't if you thought this comet's alignment had an effect??? Yes I watched her videos.
And okay, I hear you about astropatriot. I think that makes more sense - someone was clearly trying to discredit him though, we can agree. an dthat is suspicious...
And no the astronomer received emails and initially agreed to talk to this guy and now won't return any of his emails. I'll be doing my own research soon to see what I come up with.
There are recent YouTube videos from NASA scientists debunking the theories and oversimplifying them (hoax is different than a misguided theory, solar activity HAS been unusual of late, and so far we just don't have proof that alignments matter.. many think they could entail more... www.youtube.com...
I for one think Leonid Elenin is a real guy an dthe comet's alignments have been coincidental. I think the crazy weather events (correlations with alignemtn) and the very real search for Planet X since 1800s (names and orbit have changed, not the search)...as well as the eerie long-count calendar end of th eMayans, that ties into other similarities with Hopi, Sumerian, and later biblical associations with where the stars are and how they maniuplate life here on earth... is what has made this theory so compelling.
what doesn't help though is this - 'debunkers" totally oversimplifying the above, and resorting to ad hominem attacks to get their point across. I don't trust mainstream media. I don't trust the government. I don't trust NASA. I honestly think you're naieve if you do. So we don't have any real source.s So all we can look at are th efacts and stuff. We just have to stop relying on personal attacks.
Whatever 9nania was inspired by is irrelevant- her methadology was VERY straightfroward. Historical seemingly cyclical disasters, and past alignemnts with comet. VERY straightforward.
There are some newish papers besides the Cornell one (thanks for clearing up) that suggest alignments have effects, and even some new pickup on electric universe theory.
to say that we understand perfectly earth climate change and cycles is just a lie. so there are probalby other things at play.
solar cycles are observations ... not explanations
you catch me ? : )

It's very clear that the workings of the sun are hard to understand. There are plenty of predictions and we can see that in the current solar maximum the early predictions was off by a year, which is a huge error. That just means that there is lots to learn about the Sun. It doesn't mean that we know little. There are other solar issues which are better understood.

Not sure I get your point here at all.
The guy was clearly a wummer, I don't get this post at all.

The problem with this whole thing is quite simple.
1. He came up with the idea himself.
2. He set about investigating it, and showed us a teaser trailer.
3. He claimed his computer was attacked and that he had come up against all kinds of roadblocks.
4. He claimed that he had discovered something that would make our jaws drop.
5. He uploaded the debate episode to ATS media, apparently without any trouble at all, and claimed that he would upload the Elenin video either later that night, or the next day.
6. He went completely silent on the issue, and the video has never surfaced. He has posted a lot in the time since then, and yet, nothing on this promised episode.
Now, whether or not you think that there is something going on here in regards to this comet, you have to admit that this behavior is at least disappointing and at worst, a complete hoax. And if it is a hoax, then ATS themselves were perpetrating it, also, promising something that never came, and may never have existed in the first place.
It's not a matter of "crazy nut jobs" wanting an Elenin video, it's an issue of people feeling like they were led up the garden path, and that this behavior is usually frowned upon quite staunchly on this site.
Why all the teasing?
Why the claims of jaw-dropping discoveries?
Why bother?
This is what sticks in my craw. I don't like being lied to, messed around, or misled.
Yes we know a lot. But compared to what we don't know...considering we have only been first-hand on the MOON...it's a bit arrogant to think that in the scheme of things we know all that much. Fast forward 50 years, we might be there - knowledge and scientific findings are increasing exponentially!
There are things happening every day here on Earth that are indirect results of forces we still don't understand! that's a big deal! but it's exciting, so many new things we'll learn over next years... if we remain open-minded. : )
9nania may have mistaken, but she was not a fraud in my books. Sure it was a lucky guess, is what it is looking to be, but to say she based her predictions completely on her Christian beliefs is just not true. She was inspired by her beliefs to research something, and her research led her in an albeit biased direction.
I have researched ancient astronomy and religion like crazy, there is soooooooo sooooo much more to it than people realize. And also, I find it funny that the NASA experts actually thinks there's a Mayan calendar that picks up on Jan 1 (watch video) where the long-count ends. this is just not true. There may be a calendar like that out there, but we have no proof. The calendar that ends in dec is the longest one of the mayans and the only one that projects into future - the others were used for daily/weekly planning in their reality. Each calendar had unique significance. And because they had less knowledge, they had to base their theories and beliefs on very raw data from the stars.
To your other points, it sucks that we can't trust anyone. But it's just the reality. The internet is like a huge propaganda tool for the government, or a huge conspiracy horn for people who want to ramble or sell books...there are bad guys and disinfo on both sides. This is the state of reality we're in, and it's not a susstainable one. Hopefully itll change!
You don't get that this site is filled with fake accounts that debunk consipracies with auto responses ??? read the thread ...

I am sure scientists will always hope that there is lots we do not know otherwise they'd be out of a job. Is our knowledge increasing exponentially? Maybe. How do we measure knowledge? How do we measure what is unknown? What we know and know well is that alignments are meaningless drivel. They are interesting in some cases such as when objects are occulted. The occultation of a star by a planet allows us to investigate the planet. Does it affect quakes on Earth? No. That is a decidable question that can be tested using statistical analysis. That is what showed the connection between the Moon and some quakes.
The question about fraud lies int he manner of the data presented. The lack of alignment and claiming alignment and the cherry picking are signs of fraud.
You are quite mistaken to think that the long count calendar ends in 2012. The counts continue. How do we know? The Mayans left us long count dates AFTER it supposedly ends. So yes the calendar continues. The shorter calendars were more in use than the long count, which I believe had fallen out of use before Columbus arrived. These other calendars were shorter but some had predictions associated with them. At the end of the long count one of these other calendars predicts a bad squash and maize harvest.
Keeping an open mind is important. It is just as important to weed out the nut cases and frauds such as 9nania.
