a friend of mine thought that the masons were after him via the cable box because it said "rec" once and thought they were recording him...when it's actually receiving data

I don't understand the significance of song/rap lyrics.

These are people just like you and me, writing about things that they find interesting, writing about things they know, writing about the way they would like things to be, and commenting on the world around them in general. Anyone reading this post has interest in some aspect of conspiracy, the esoteric, or some other topic covered by this great site. Why should these people be any different? All that sets them apart is that they have found a way to use these interests in an artistic manner which is economically viable, where as we just watch and comment.

Right, and I think you kind of answered your own question, we admire these artists because they have the courage to speak out on issues that we just read about and a lot of the time never take any action against. I believe another reason is simply because the media doesn't promote lyrics like this, you never hear pop artists or mainstream rappers even mentioning things of this nature on radio singles.

Alot of these songs are new to me, and its exciting to know how many people really believe in this "conspiracy theory" what a bunch of wackos!

I know my hip-hop lovers know if Immortal Technique right? Hell, even those who dont necessarily care for rap can appreciate this mans ability to command the english language, and he is a big conspiracy theorist to boot. Also check out Non Phixion, and Jedi Mind Tricks. Non Phixion has a track entitled "Black Helicopters", and another called "The CIA is Tryin' to Kill Me".
