was encouraged to see Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham, in a major address this past Friday before the National Petroleum Council, go out of his
way to draw special attention to "the looming challenges we face with respect to natural gas."
In his remarks, Secretary Abraham noted that current stocks of natural gas in underground storage are "unusually low" due to a combination of cold
weather in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions this past winter and "declines in both domestic production and net imports."
