That Army ad kills me!

Silliness aside, it also kills me that so many kids see war as some kind of video game. It's nothing like it.
It's hellish.

sorry about the bluntness but name calling is all I can resort to.

If we had a draft we would lose the war because conspiricy theory GEEKS like you left wing, gun hating, tree huggung, socialist, corporate America hating, nerds don't make the best soldiers.

I'll keep supporting my president and all the troops over in Iraq no matter what happens because at least we have a president with BALLS in the white house at the moment.
*inappropriate language removed*

Well, there ya go, all you BushFans! Name-calling is all he can come up with to argue his case. Need I say more?

Keep it up, these mindless rants only make Kerry look better.

Name calling aside, he's partly right on why there won't be a draft. It would never work.
If there's a draft when we don't need one, for a wildly unpopular war, there would be soldiers killing each other more than the enemy. The only way a draft would work would be if the country was somehow united in agreement. The only thing I can think of that would cause that would be us being invaded or a real WW3 broke out and threatened our way of life.
You try to force a draft and all hell will break lose.

As far as the rest of his rant...he loosely quoted from one of the funnier parts of the movie Team America....

Im just sick and tired of people spreading rumors and saying they're factual. Thats all Liberals do!!! (I.E. that fata*s michael moore)

they say have truths and tell the American public this is TRUE, believe this!!!

The problem is conspiracy nuts like you people buy into that crap.

grow up and think for yourselves, dont let the liberal influencing media push you to one side or another.

The fact is the bill was brought before congress by democrats to scare nutballs like you into thinking bush was for a draft.

How many times does Bush have to say he isn't for a draft and won't have a draft?!?

I'm a Merchant Marine, I work for the government and I whole heartedly support Bush and our troops. Just like most troops support bush!!! The troops are votong for bush yet you liberal nutters who know whats best for everyone else, seem to think the troops would be better off with a different president. go figure

Age is irrelevant, and I haven't even posted some of my experience in RATS so why would I post it here?

You still haven't showed me how the President is going to call for a draft without congress' approval.
And suppose people just don't want to join the army and there isn't a 100% spike in recruitments, where is Kerry going to find the people to create 2 new divisions?

Oh yeah this is another reason that I hate Kerry!!

Read on, and sorry for the cut and paste:

"Of course, the president keeps telling people he would never question my service to our country. Instead, he watches as a Republican-funded attack group does just that. Well, if he wants to have a debate about our service in Vietnam, here is my answer: 'Bring it on.'" -- Sen. John Kerry

Dear John,

As usual, you have it wrong. You don't have a beef with President George Bush about your war record. He's been exceedingly generous about your military service. Your complaint is with the 2.5 million of us who served honorably in a war that ended 29 years ago and which you, not the president, made the centerpiece of this campaign.

When John Kerry testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in April 1971, he admitted that he had probably broken the law by going to Paris and meeting with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong leaders. (From page 188 of the hearing record: "I realize that even my visits in Paris . . . in a sense are on the borderline of private individuals negotiating, et cetera. I understand these things." The prohibition against private individuals negotiating--which has been on the criminal statute books since John Adams was President--is contained in 18 U.S.C. Section 953 and is a felony.)

I hope you aren'tlike most democrats who would read the first few lines of this and then reply as if you read the whole thing.... because it isnt something you want to hear.

I've read and saw a lot of movies that were anti Bush, but.... i repeat BUT.... then I researched them and found a lot of it to be either HALF true.... or completely false altogether!!!

Damn he sounds like a great man
kerry that is.

Lost Sailor, no offense, but you come off as just a plain angry, jingoistic person. Are you mad b/c you know Bush is gonna lose his azz come Nov. 2? And so you know, I'm a Republican and I will be voting for Kerry. I know that's impossible for some "Republicans" to comprehend. But it's the truth.

Amazing how you can still insist that Bush will reinstate a draft when the draft was 'nixed' by Nixon, and since then, it has ONLY been Democrats that have sought to re-establish the draft....

I know who I trust more to NOT bring it back.

how can you compare the ADF to the Unstoppable US Military Might. You need to check up on your history and see that there were other drafts, not just Vietnam. Did you ever hear of WWII, yeah, they had a draft then as well. Oh yeah, and they had plenty of volunteers, but it still wasn't enough to handle fighting the "World Forces of Evil" the Axis Powers. At least back then, people were angry about the enemy attacking us on our own soil (another conspiracy theory we won't get into right now). Two towers fell and the Impenetrable Pentagon hit on 9/11 and people just forget these things and cry about a draft because they don't want to fight for this country. If they feel that way, leave, then i can buy a bigger house and more land for my family who loves this country. The Mighty USA!!!

How in the HECK (I'd really say what's running though my mind, but the censor won't let me) do you get off insulting one of our best and longtime allies? Any idea of the accomplishments of the Auusies on the battlefield? They are in no way inferior. As a matter of fact, our special teams train with their special teams and pick up as many tips as they give.

The draft is stupid. I'm sure Kerry doesn't understand as he was in the Navy for himself and only for himself, but everyone else knows that the volunterr army is the only way to go. There is no reason in the world to take a bunch of whining, protesting whimps and toss them into an outfit of professionals. That'll do no good.

Well, there'd be one bit of good. A lot of yellowbellies will strike north for the border. Once they went there, seal the border and shoot them if they try and return for any reason.

But it is funny your should say that since you still haven't answered mine.

You were in GW1 right?
How long did you stay over there? Did you talk to the people over there, observe them?
Or did you just fight and come home?
