Yes Earth 1996

Yes Earth! I hear your voice, I am your child.
The unfolding of the Human seed
Blossoming on a gentle breeze
Stirring through a golden garden.

A carpet of clover once had lain
Ripe fruits brushed her rolling planes.
See how She holds you dearly
Like a mother will a newborn child.

Oh what have we done to paradise!
What turmoil, toil, what tragedy thunders down.
All trashed away, the orchid we once knew
That dwelt within contented views.

All awry with insecurity
Love that wandered naturally
Stumbles entangled, lightening strikes
Amidst the ruins of paradise.

All joys days wasted away
In the ceaseless grind of the greed machine
Sweet promise afresh in a world of lies
Bound by law in feckless faith

Bright "BUY ME" signs steal the night
Crushing opposition with merecenary corporate might
While petty tyrants posture in government halls
This flood of fools, this house of frauds.

Dissenting every flag, master, religion or mustical creed
This troubadour's tempestous tirade now must fade
For my sweet muse rebukes me sternly;
She alone knows me so well.

"Oh! reckless youths rebel song
The tender tongue has lain silent too long
Cracked and partched, unable to quench it's desire
What joys are within you, the promise you made.

At the heart of all reason and concern
On the "Threshing Floor" where the yeild is measured
Driven so low the soul will rise
Do you love my common Humankind?

If love was plain and the world fair
Then love that longs to share
Would have no need of eleborate design
Love would be yours, it would be mine"

Yes Earth! I hear your voice
The seeds that you have sown
This furrowed fields bounteous harvest
Gathered in for all to share.

It's a simple thing that we require
Companions around this fragrant fire
Speaking of our plans for Spring
The harvest safely stored for Winter.
