Stereo Behind COR2 image I can't explain, page

Take a look at this image taken on the 25th of this month:

Here's the position of Stereo B at the time:

I initially thought this was Venus, but it is too big - Venus is the other side of the sun at this point, and the angle from Stereo B to Venus doesn't seem to be right (if the image to the left of the sun was Venus)

The object I cant explain is visible throughout every frame of Stereo B and is tracking to the left, so not an imaging anomaly.

Can someone throw some light on this? Can't figure out what it is.

Checking orbital positions of other planets, this cannot be Mars, Jupiter or Saturn.

The thing I like about your post is the fact you have tried to debunk this before posting, unlike others who would of just threw the video up and assumed something out of the ordinary was near the sun.

I have no Idea what that is. Was there an asteroid or a comet passing on the 25th? If not then we may have a mysterious object

Well from B Venus looks in about the right position and it is very bright..
Distance is hard to judge on a 2D pic...

Yes, I am thinking that maybe Nasa have the positioning information incorrectly shown on their site.

Agreed 2D is difficult to judge, but keep in mind just how much area around the sun is blocked out, and the position of the object to the left appears to be on the same plane as the sun. Also Venus maybe bright, but it has a diameter of 113 times smaller than the sun, and is much further away from Stereo B at the moment than the sun (something like 0.75 AU further away)

Would be good for someone to explain in more detail.

Does anyone have more detailed Stereo knowledge? Like field of view information for the cameras...?

OK, this might be important for further Stereo images.

From rough calcs, the distance from the edge of the sun to the furthest left edge of the stereo view is approx 0.06 AU.

That would make the image here about 0.02AU from the left edge of the sun.

Obviously the sun is significantly smaller than the second image reflects (by about 15 times), and Venus is several hundred times smaller - thus there may be enough separation from the sun and Venus to make it viewable beyond the blacked out area around the sun.

Therefore my money is back on Venus. My only hesitation is the size.
