Reports of casino incident not accurate, Ronstadt says

Singer Linda Ronstadt was not asked to leave a Las Vegas casino Saturday after she endorsed Michael Moore's controversial film "Fahrenheit 9/11," the Tucson native told the Tucson Citizen yesterday.
And she was not booed off the stage by a concert crowd that had erupted in mayhem, she said.

Speaking by phone from San Francisco, Ronstadt said that she left the Aladdin Resort & Casino immediately after the concert and was not aware that the management was irritated by her comments until an hour after she left the show.

This story just keeps getting weirder and weirder. The source of the original news stories was Aladdin President, Bill Timmins. Now Ronstadt is saying that she left the Aladdin immediately after the concert, but was not escorted from the property, as Timmins claims.

One other thing I would like to clear up. Several posters have referred to Ronstadt being fired. She was not fired. She was booked for one concert.

The other peculiar twist to this story is that the Aladdin will soon be under new ownership, and the new owners have invited Ronstadt and Moore to appear jointly in a concert at the Aladdin. For details, see my post

Moore and Ronstadt to Perform at Aladdin in Las Vegas
