Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh told an Arab television network that he is "ready to step down with respect and dignity, even within a two hours notice."
CNN

It seems the inevitable end of the Saleh regime is finally happening. Over the past week major diplomatic, military, and tribal allies have been defecting. The fall of the regime sped up after the excessive use of force last Friday. Snipers killed 52 people peacefully protesting. Since then many supporters have turned against the regime.

Oops there goes the tipping point. No stopping it now

1, is an exception
2, is a coincidence
3, is a pattern

Personally It's time to crack a beer and kick back, and wait for the bang!

This situation could prove troubling for American imperial interests.

US special forces have been very active in the country. This is why the US has turned a blind eye to the human rights atrocities.

What the US will do now is very key. They have supported a dictator who has killed his own people. The wikileaks released evidence that the US attacked sites illegally in Yemen. It is very possible that whatever government results will not be too friendly to US interests.

I am interested to see how mainstream media creates an impression of the issue. The more talk of civil war and chaos the more likely we may be going into yet another country.

Here is Democracy NOW discussing the US role in Yemen, and what it will mean if Saleh falls.(Several days ago)
