US Imposes Sanctions Against Russian Research Center

The Department of State has determined that the Altai Federal Research and Production Complex has worked on missile technologies that fall under two U.S. acts on missile proliferation and require the imposition of sanctions. The research center�s activities fall under the Arms Export Control Act and the Export Administration Act, the notice in the Federal Register said.

The sanctions foresee denial of new licenses for exports to the Altai complex for two years. No new contracts with the complex will be signed for two years.

I wonder what the missile technology violations were?
Are they limitations on distance?
