Did you ever think that maybe ghaddafi was right...I'm not saying he is because no one knows 100% without being there..but to me the reason why I believe this whole thing is set up is because as soon as ghaddafi had the rebels in his mercy(chased them back to benghazi and had the city surrounded) that is when the no fly zone took place..They took their sweet old time talking about it while the rebels were making progress then all of a sudden when they look likethey are about to be defeated, that's when the international community stepped in..Now based on their track records I have a hard time believing that they did it to "protect innocent civiliians." If this was the case then why has no one stepped in to the ivory coast, where the violence is surprisingly worse...of course there isn't any oil there and they already have a central bank

Oh I get it, really do. However, Lybia doesnt have the best track record itself, many of the nations in the middle east dont do they? Heck look at the whole of the eastern hemisphere. They arent exactly timid little rabbits either, Lets look at that too. For us to instantly blame the US because of its track record ( past administrations) would be a totally one sided perspective. Look at the bombings we committed to several years ago when Clinton was in office, had it not been for Blair, we wouldnt have done anything at all. Im just saying this here my fellow ats'er, that for tons of people who do not trust the news sites or governments, people sure do choose a side quick based on a few articles from all of the very same sources and outlets that they scrutinize on a daily basis. Some one pointed that out very clearly the other day.

So while I always appreciate the ground basis for many views here, it seems everyone always wants the best (most do anyway) I cant suggest jumping on NWO bandwagons, anti US talk from the usual suspects nor people who think they are right because they read it somewhere. Media, is media, is media and that business in and of itself has a record that is just as slimey as any country or government in any hemisphere has.

Secondly, who else has interests in Africa? Can you write a list? Surely anyone here would agree that if any nation on earth has had everyone's hands in its soil, its Africa. As a continent it has been exploited, and continues to be exploited more by the day.

I can sit here all day long like some do, painting pictures of mass murder, genocide, factionism, exploitation, national interests, global ignorance, some global elite, follow the money trails and whatever else. Anyone could, for instance, I saw China's fully armed warship waltz right on into the strait who has a major interest in what the US does and pick up its people then leave unscaved with western nations forces basically surrounding it. China! The nation that holds a very large cache of US securities and currency.

Who here mentioned that China might have some interest there? Look at some of their operations; do you really think they are out there promoting peace? What about Russia? Russia? Has been doing business with Lybia for years and years and years my friend. They all have their pockets in Africa, no one cares who rules that small country called "Lybia", they care about access to business there and access to their own interests.

Your own beloved Canada sent jets, think about why? Did Lybia hurt Canada? How? What interest does Canada have in contributing to regime change possibly?

See my point? They arent lying to you or me when they say the global economy is the global economy my friend. It is literally a global economy. I suffer, you suffer. Just because a few countries dont send jets, doesnt mean they dont profit, it doesnt mean they dont support it, let alone see the good in instability, especially when it crashes market and screws with their pockets. Russia and China can both kiss my American wazoo, they are just as damn guilty as the "coalition" and benefit by denouncing any military action there while countries like mine and yours catch the heat.

Qaddafi was telling the truth!!!!!!!!

How does this article add to any objective consideration? is the decision already made that this was staged? How do you folks know, this article wasn't written so you'd think as you do? Seems so because all I'm seeing is final judgements based on a UK article with no objection to it at all.

Think about this: If those rebels were actually involved with the CIA, do you really think they would have lost control of those cities? Do you really? If so people are naive. If you can do these things in a quieter, easier, less expensive way... you'd do it, you would not involve the world militaries and youd have a lot better outcome with continuous and covert intel on the ground, leading this movement instead of getting yourselves and all of the rebels killed in a losing battle.

Just something to think about.

Excellent points. And you're right, they have pre-determined their conclusions based on their politics. There is a clear and obvious concerted effort out there from the 'Right" to discount the entire uprising in every country int he mideast as being the workings of the Left.

Which is interesting, since if there was a popular uprising in the states from the various right-wing factions who fantasize about such actions, they would not like to be immediately dismissed as 'terrorists' or 'al queda in America'.

Who are the Libyan Rebels?
