Maybe it's a blimp??

The colors in the "object" look an awful lot like the colors in the guy's cap. Looks to me like someone lassoed a part of his cap and copy/pasted. Doesn't look like an object hovering in the sky at all. Zoom in on it and you'll see what I mean.

It can't be a street lamp because he said he took another picture right after that one, and the object wasn't there. If it was a blimp, then, depending how fast he took the pictures, it would also be in the 2nd picture's frame unless it passed behind one of their heads.

That's the blimp, it's over Boston regularly. I'm from Boston and see it all the time , same color, same shape. There is not a doubt in my mind that it is the blimp. No big deal.

It looks somewhat distorted.
I don't know.

It's a street lamp photoshopped into the picture. If you look at the original full sized one the OP gave in the link zoom in it will be obvious.
