I really enjoy being a member here and in the few months since joining i have read many things i never knew about, but it seems to have made me feel as if with all the things happening in the world that my own life is pretty mundane and boring. I can't see the point in socialising or trying to make a difference as the people i meet in everyday life are just interested in shopping or watching tv. I want to meet people like ats members, interesting people who notice what is going on in the world, people who see the futility in moaning about the weather or who want to do more than visit retail parks at the weekend. I have always felt different to the majority of other people and as the years have gone by i have gradually let all my friendships from school, work etc lapse as i just don't see the point in seeing people that i have nothing in common with. Now i find myself sat at my computer all day usually on ats. I have a feeling of unreality about everything, i wouldn't go out at all if it were not for having to take my dearest companion (Queenie my dog) in life out twice a day. Ihave never known what i'm supposed to do with my life, i sometimes wish that i wasn't such a deep thinker as it has made me question things too much and i have missed out on a lot of what normal people would perceive as fun. I can't see the point in holidays, weddings or having children although i do have one son but now i even feel guilty sometimes for bringing him into this messed up world. I just wondered if anyone else sometimes thinks what's the point. we won't be even remembered in 50 years or less and it's just pot luck that any of us are here anyway.

Good morning! How was your sleep? Fairly good I hope!
'
And you nailed it, there really ISN'T any point to our day-to-day lives, not in the ways things are right now. And once again you're right, people (the majority of them) aren't interesting fellows at all.

I know the feeling you're describing, but to let those who are trying to ruin our world keep us from experiencing the fun and happiness of life is like giving up and letting them win. You can deny ignorance and still enjoy life! You could meet people through protests. They are aware of issues, but still socialize and have fun. They might have more in common with you.

To simplify a response- Yeah, pretty much, but for me it started before I found ATS.

Our Earth is tiny. I am tiny compared to our Earth. That's pretty dam small.

Me too, started when I was around 17-18... I am 24 now. I just found ATS a few weeks ago and joined last week I guess. So it's not ATS' fault lol. I can still enjoy many things and have fun though, but I know exactly what the OP means.

I know exactly what you are saying. I still play sport etc, but around that, other peoples childish crap really bores me and so does TV etc.

We are different from other people, and we can try to understand why we don't want to be in the "rat race" but we have never been in it completely.
There is something worth living for, it's just not the "rat race". We see that.
My daughter and I have fought about her going to school. She does not see the point, all she sees is what the "rat race" has done to the earth and she can't stand it. She actually ended up in the JDC jail here for not going. Finally the other day as we were talking about everything going on in the world it hit me. She wants to live her life, but not the way she is being told. She was born less in the "rat race" than we were.
Now that we both understand why she was having a hard time I can help her do what she needs to do, and then enjoy her life the rest of the time. She has more joy in her, she isn't yelling as much. Well, her nor I. We got the point.

Ask yourself what kind of a race a rat runs! We all know, they show us all the time what they make the rats do in those labs.
We can be the rats they told us we were, or we can be ourselves and find our joy.
Only you can tell you who you really are.

Thank you for sharing!

As a non denominational Christian I am taught that it is a blessing to be born because we have the opportunity one day of seeing God our loving Father as Jesus taught and our loved ones who passed away. I lost mum and dad last year but now feel happy that God is caring for them. Live life interesting as this place ATS is life out there has more magic make the first move a step at a time create build begin to believe in God's magic and life will improve. Do for others what you would like your life to be like and it will happen. We dont all have to be successful and famous most famous people are more miserable than normal people

Too much nihilism in this thread.

Cheer up guys. What's the worst that can happen? We all die? At least then we won't have to slave away and eat/drink poison for the entirety of our lives.
Shake free from the material world's grasp and you'll see that even in hard times a man can smile.

I sometimes feel the same way. Indeed our life is senseless without understanding what is going on.I was once absorbed in the mundane world and seemingly enjoy the things the so called normal person is enjoying. But since I join ATS and do some other reading and contemplating, I am now in a better spot, still enjoying things but with better clarity. I now felt that my life has purpose and direction and it does strengthen my self esteem.

Yes turn the upstream, down. (Meaning the title of the thread is negative charged, which has an echo of perceiving reality as it is(dark path). By the comment of you, you turn the event back in to the right direction:up(lighten it up):. Choose your thoughts carefully its shapes your world)

Nontheless. In the echo of evolution there comes always a time of great change. It must, that's who we all are.
We have come from far, to finally understand that we have allowed this reality to exist. Are we to blame? No, way.
We are the first, who have the chance of change for the benefit of us all. We choose to listen to a bunch of people with large strange faces, telling you the things your already know. We even choose to use 'money'. Well hello , that's the reason there is in the current state of the world no point of living day to day. You will always be limited by the boundaries those few strange people tell you to do.

Its time to release, and breathe

What the OP feels like no point of living, is for me choking day to day. And i just want to breathe. What happens in the world wasn't our fault. What happens tomorrow does. Choose to breathe, and you all know what to do.

I feel the same hopelessness you do. In wondering what the point of existence here is, I've come to the conclusion that, if anything, it's to attain some kind of spiritual ascension. But as for all the conspiracies and lies and world chaos... I haven't met hardly anyone who really understands the reality behind the things that go on. It's frustrating not having people to discuss those things with... But this is what ATS is for.
Perhaps you could try out a radically different lifestyle? Move out in the country, grow your own food, be as self-sufficient as possible and without any outside influence.

I don't think so. The MSM does a wonderful job
of that on it's own without our help. I think ATS
tries to help those understand what is happening
and sheds more light on the behind the scenes
in world events than the MSM tells them. It helps
them make more informed choices in everyday life.
ATS provides the WHO WHAT WHERE WHY and HOW
that is missing in the regular news.

I guess I was lucky? The blinders fully came off for me over 20 years ago. Before that it was more like having the shade of some very dark sunglasses removed gradually over a decade or more. I feel for you. We are a limited commodity. A commodity that seemingly is no longer in demand because “THEY” have it all figured out. Unfortunately you see the situation clearly, those that can understand do, those who may someday understand will strive, those who can’t, never will. That is why it is so important that those types never be given absolute power. The majority will NEVER be able to see much farther than the nose on their face. To pigeon hole them into a false sense is criminal. Some people I have known called it needs based behavior. They make up our majority, some are well meaning, some are cunning, and some are evil. None have foresight beyond planning on how to get what they want. They make the best Generals. Once again their leadership will follow this very same direction.

It is truly maddening to be the voice of reason during a storm when everyone is screaming. Seems pointless, as one would seemingly have to become one of them to get the point across. Perhaps that is why so many in the end join the clergy. Most probably know it is a sham but, what of salvation for those who truly can’t understand? Besides who really knows the truth? Until someone I trusted with my life comes back to tell me what is or isn’t on the other side, I will choose to make my own opinions, based on my observations, and adapt them over time as I continue to learn. Perhaps those of us who are like minded should start our own ‘religion“ if you will. No joking aside I could be a very legitimate heir ( I seriously doubt there is such a thing though) to a very popular religion. But when you come from that as your background it is not something you care about I guess, I found out by accident as most of my family is dead. With that being said if any member reads this that lives near where the passenger plane fell from the sky back in the 80’s? I would love some help researching, I have yet been able to make my way there. Based on our county history they say that when my family finally made their way to this god forsaken place that he (John Wilson xxxxx) was still giving sermons in welsh, who knows, but it is recorded that way. Last year I started in Boston, made my way to Pelham island, then through jersey. All those places named Salem along the way, totally weird.

I understand you. I put on my costume, paint on a smile, and act my way through life, I then go home and sulk for the state of my fellow man. I find nature and animals help, and having my feet touching the earth unimpeded. Enjoy, and if you haven’t already done so, pick up an instrument, very important. It will help you connect in more ways than one.

The politicians have sold out
The banks have sold out
The corporations have sold out
The military have sold out
The media have sold out

ATS is one of the few last bastions of truth going on in the world. The truth hurts, it is depressing. We must fact it, accept it and push it if we value it.

I feel your pain.

Look at it this way,.
ATS is a resource for information,.and a great one at that.
You will find out much things here that you will not anywhere else.
ATS can be a tool for your personal well being and survival if you choose
to use it in that manor.
the general populace is not "in" on what is often the truth here, use that to your advantage.
Also, keep in mind it is a conspiracy site, everything is questionable till proven a fact.
Cheers.LD

There does seem to be a lot of doom and gloom these days, maybe it is time to step away from the internet for awhile. Take things you read here with a grain of salt, there is a lot of crap to filter through.Believe whatever sits right in your heart and research.I know every once in awhile I have to step back because this does affect your sanity after a while.

You need to force yourself to get out and walk. Go out and explore the real world.

I look upon ATS as strictly entertainment.
