Regarding particle duality of wave particle function it has been debated on this forum, and it does not make it an illusion, it's interaction with light makes the wave form a particle, to observe anything at an atomic size you have to focus light on it. It's not the observation but the light shining on it, no light no particle, back to wave function.
Explains the double slit experiment, no observation what ever the particle type will pass like a wave. It is light that gives it shape and forms it into a particle. For any observation of any type of particle you need light, it's pitch black at subatomic level.
