First of all, the images are from STEREO Ahead, not SOHO.

Venus

That's because Venus is bright, so it induces CCD blooming on the Cor2 detector.

more than likely its the space station,

SPACE STATION TRANSIT: The sunspot number briefly doubled yesterday (March 23rd) when a spaceship-shaped silhouette flitted across the sun.

It seriously looks like a winged planetoid to me...

Venus - Mars - Mercury all are far too small for this big boy - it also moves very strangely.

I also think the ISS is not so huge - or shaped that way....

It is planet sized and closer to us than the sun is.

This makes it look far larger with respect to the sun.

Very nice and thank you for posting. Research is required now to identify object rather than making assumptions.

How did you determine the size? Are you aware that you're seeing it as a point-like light source, the camera is not resolving it, thus you can't judge the size based on how large it appears in the image (all that tells you is the brightness)? And yes, it's Venus, it's exactly where Venus should be in the image.

You need to open your mind a bit and realise you're seeing 3 dimensional objects on a 2 dimensional picture.

You'll probably be blown away when Jupiter moves into view, because it can appear smaller than Venus does despite being many, many times larger!

I thank you all for the info - I just don't see how Venus can be this big - and the 'wings'?

I've never seen Venus like this before?

It moves like a weird mofo too - it just 'feels' like it is something else...

Again, you're not seeing the size, you're seeing the brightness. Venus is very, very bright.

CCD blooming. Venus is quite bright.

If it's as big as you think wouldn't that rule out a spaceship by all imaginable logic?

All the information needed is in this post.

Its Venus, and much closer to the Stereo camera than the Sun.
