made SMALLER?? according to those stats they were made BIGGER, unless your talking about what they used to be then were made smaller to the 7.62x39mm ??


I'm talking about the 5.56x45mm rounds. Before that, all NATO rifles were 7.62x51mm.

I'm just sick and friggin tired of people getting calibers wrong.

I belive that the NATO countries use 5.56mm, but they also have 7.62mm for machine guns, ect... Im not sure about it but I think they use the same rounds as AK-47s. Correct me if im wrong

NATO countries have a 7.62 x 51mm calibur round for use on the GPMG and sniper rifles. Russian have 7.62 x 39mm for the AK-47 and variants and another for 7.62 X 54mm round for their machine guns.
