Why do we constantly get lied to and **** on by the US government and put up with it?

Today I was thinking about all of the blatant lies that the government has told over time, and I realized we aren't doing anything about it. These are the people that we chose to represent us, and they lie to us constantly! Not only do they lie to us, but they completely show no regard for the paper that basically founded this nation. There are many examples, so let's look at some of the most recent lies and unconstitutional acts that the government has been behind:

9/11- Face it guys, whether or not you want to accept it, there is irrefutable evidence that not only did the towers not fall on their own, but that the official story is completely flawed. This isn't a 9/11 thread so I won't go into detail, but the documentary "Loose Change" sums it all up nicely.

Patriot Act- Completely unconstitutional act that is in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. It's a pretty clear cut amendment, but they managed to forget all about it I guess, even though it kind of is their job to follow the constitution. But hey it's justified, those terrorists that didn't perpetrate 9/11 need to be stopped by punishing citizens by means of invading their privacy.

Obama Health Care- Another bill that violates the constitution, forcing us to pay for something that not all of us want to pay into. Is that socialism or communism? I always mix the two up, but regardless, it's still unconstitutional.

Federal Government Raiding Cannabis Dispensaries- The 10th amendment says that the states have individual freedom and power, not the federal government as a whole. There are I believe 14 states that have legalized medical marijuana, so the states have the right to regulate and distribute cannabis legally. But I guess the federal government one day said "F the constitution, let's do what we want when we want, nobody even knows what the constitution is nowadays", and decided to raid a few dispensaries, possibly bankrupting several Americans who are obeying the state law.

UFO Cover-Ups- Roswell, Battle of LA, Phoenix Lights, there are several examples of this. True, not every single light in the sky is definitive proof that there are intelligent aliens watching us, but there are those certain cases that have several credible witnesses, and a decent amount of evidence that should at least have you scratching your head. What is the government's response on these matters? "Weather balloon, swamp gas, Venus in the sky, aviation lights".

Cures for Diseases- I remember a thread a while back called "Cancer is Dead- Cures from A to Z", and there were literally HUNDREDS of remedies that kill cancerous cells! Every letter had like 6 different cures, almost all of them being completely organic and natural, that have been shown to kill cancerous cells. Why is this not the biggest story of the century? Oh yeah I forgot, Charlie Sheen smokes crack, he's more important that saving millions of lives. Also, there's unimaginable profit to be made from diseases, I can't forget that. Sure, eating some acai berries or whatever might not get rid of your cancer just like that, but why are the foundations that take millions of dollars worth of donations not working to pursue a cure in one of these hundreds of potential cures? Where exactly is all of that money going to, research to create an even more addicting, expensive therapy that makes the medicine industry more money?

The Facts About Cannabis- I know, I know, enough about cannabis, right? Well the lies and government backed propaganda cannot be forgotten so soon. Do you guys remember Reefer Madness? President's lying about the dangers of cannabis to get it illegal? Government studies that lied to the public? Because I sure do, and I'm not going to forget it until the day I die.

TSA Body Scanners/Searches- We allow strangers to touch nearly every inch of our body and file naked pictures of us, all in the name of safety, right? How many bombs have been discovered strapped to a terrorists gooch because of these pat-downs? How many box-cutters have been found near a mans genitals because of these pat-downs? At least one? (Not a rhetorical question, seriously I don't know) I haven't heard a single story about how any lives were saved because of these pat-downs, so I'm assuming we haven't stopped anything because of these. I might be wrong, but until I hear about an event where lives were saved because of these pat-downs and body scanners, I will think of them as an unnecessary measure.

That's all I got for now, but there are MANY other examples of times when the US government either lied to the public or acted unconstitutionally against them. Please post as many examples as you can think of.

Now where does that leave us? What are we going to do, keep letting the occasional lie slip, forget about the occasional unconstitutional government action, and just go on with out lives? Yes, that's exactly what we are going to do. Nobody is going to do anything about it. What can we do? Get some angry Americans together and march in front of a building with picket signs chanting a few catchy lines in hopes that that will fix this country? Seriously, what good does protesting do? I don't even know what we COULD do to ensure that our politicians are honest and constitutional. Threaten them? Go Jared Loughner on them? No that will just get us thrown into jail. Maybe we can just move to Canada and hope for a better life, or form an army and start a new civil war, or even take over a state and secede from the nation. But all of these are just ideas that will never happen, because we're past the point of no return. We've let one too many unconstitutional acts and lies slip, so our government is becoming accustomed to disrespecting the people that elected them.

What do you guys think, am I just a baby who is over-reacting to little events that really don't mean much in the grand scheme of all things, or do you guys agree that the government is bullying the people around more and more, and that it needs to be stopped?

No Tupac your right on most if not all of what your saying and if I had answers to give my friend I would, hopefully some of our wiser ATS members have a solid idea. By the way love your work

To the boxcutter finds, they dont find em too well, there was just a recent thread about how men brought 2 boxcutters on a plane, but noone found them.

But how do you propose we enact change?

since most of us don't want to go to prison or jail...I have decided the best way to do them in is to actually turn my back to them. Buy and deal as little as humanly possible with them.
I'm never voting again either. Im done with the lot of them. I will pay my property tax but I will try to spend only for the absolute necessities from now on. Going off grid completely is my final goal.

Wow great job TSA.

That's the problem, I don't even know what we can do to change things. Maybe we're just doomed to live in a corrupt country/world filled with politicians who don't really care about people.

But I think the main thing we need to do is hold the liars accountable. We can't just let them lie to us and forget about it after watching some Family Guy. What we need is to have special court hearings where the politicians that are caught intentionally lying to the public have to explain their actions. There's a start.

TPTB are hiding these facts from the public and have threatened the US with turmoil if we told.

Healthcare reform of 09 is not a violation of the doc so stop right there.

You, like the entire GOP is in a tizzy because it is no longer "the GOP way or the highway!".

Well thought out thread, the hard work and emotion you put into was throughly displayed!!

In answer to your question, what can we do???
you are doing it, we must continue never to give up, constantly informing others..................it's going to be a very long journey, but with the likes of YOU and others like you, we will get it done, if not for us, at least for the generations to come after us.

Keep up the good fight.

MTUBY may the universe bless you. S&F

There is also irrefutable evidence that suggests the OS is correct. I for one don't believe so. But I hardly agree that " loose change " had any viable evidence. Those were kids with way to much of mommy and daddies money spent on computers and synthesizers.

Patriot Act- Completely unconstitutional act that is in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. It's a pretty clear cut amendment, but they managed to forget all about it I guess, even though it kind of is their job to follow the constitution. Agree full heartedly!

Obama Health Care- Another bill that violates the constitution, forcing us to pay for something that not all of us want to pay into. Is that socialism or communism? I always mix the two up, but regardless, it's still unconstitutional.

That was a given, I mean come on...look who thought it up? Not the brightest bulb in the box~

Completely agree, and in direct violation of the 4th Amendment..PERIOD!

I don't even know what we COULD do to ensure that our politicians are honest and constitutional

A complete upheaval, anarchy, and civil unrest...just might do the trick! Im ready if you are?

What do you guys think, am I just a baby who is over-reacting to little events that really don't mean much in the grand scheme of all things, or do you guys agree that the government is bullying the people around more and more, and that it needs to be stopped?

For the most part, I'd tend to have to agree with you...we are stuck between a rock and a hard spot. For now....we are at the tipping point. Eventually, everything will come crumbling down...its only a matter of time.

well dont count on the people as a whole to revolt against the BS, most people are too dumbed down, lethargic, apathetic and scared,i say do it on an individual basis, like lawful rebellion but make your own laws, like carry a card that says" because I say I can" on it when u have a bag of weed in case a cop asks u for ur "green" card, start treating the athorities like the gang banger they are, total non compliance is best, they cant lock up everyone all at once, nothings going to get done if you dont start your rebellion yourself and lead by example,im not saying cause chaos and destruction, just go about your life how u see fit, and dont let anyone tread on you,be nice to eachother and stop watching TV, although the korean store scene on falling down sounds reasonable lol

But who would preside over the court? If normal citizens have no power, then it would be up to a higher level of authority, which would then probably mean that the liars get off scott-free.

Couldn't have said it better myself, sir!

Little FYI for you, but what pisses me off the most is the patriot act. It is truly amazing that a 400 page piece of legislation was crafted, written, and fully edited by our completely competent Congress less than 1 week after 9/11.

Which begs to reason that it was written before 9/11, for an event like 9/11.

The vote is not even real. TPTB know who is going to win.

They give you two choices to vote for. .. The news TELLS you who to vote for, and the sheeple listen.
People think this is freedom, HA. I would LOVE to see the vote made to be write in only! Then you at least have to think about a name, not just check a box.

No it is okay to get mad think of all the people who are not mad. And what is wrong with them. But when you askw hat should we do? I think people of all classes have to say no and were not gonna put up with this anymore, and were gonna shut the country down until things are done by the constitution and we the people have a strong vibrant voice.

You completely read my mind, I was about to post something along the same lines. We need to somehow rally all of the American people, and next time they pull some of that bologna with us we "shut down the country" as you said.

yeah, man why?
ALL the governments are doing it
this is the part of the cycle where corruption reigns...

the constirtution and related docs were an attempt to end run tyranny...
but the bankers have an edge they will stoop in a way honest people would not...

this only works so far...when the good is consumerd
then evil perishes too because it has nothing to feed on..

when faced with a situation where bullsnip is non survival
it will stop

shut down the gravy pump

Tat will give TPTB carte blanche to invoke martial law for which we absolutely cannot afford right now.

Our revolt will not occur on the streets but in the cyberword whereas we are considerably more effective.

The Neo Nazi ConserviBaggers will not go for it and will be deadset against it.

You want change, protest every GOP Congresional office, every GOP Govenor's office and that way the change you seek will be adopted.

To the op,

You are a GOP Bagger and will not back Dem and American causes and like the entire GOBagger will only go against what Fox News tells you to.
