All that we will see is the police doing their kettling tactic again and winding people up, probably followed by a bunch of anarchists ripping stuff up.

We in the UK never do protests terribly well

edit on 23/3/2011 by spolvil because: (no reason given)

british people are now far too tame, and politically correct and will bend over backwards to protect people who should have no rights!

Well the protest is bigger than expected. Some say that it is 400,000 strong, although I note that CNN stated that the protest was only in the 10's of thousands and not hundreds of thousands. Whilst they did this they showed some guys trying to smash the windows of a bank.
So the manistream media will do the usual - focus on the small minority of violent protestors and claim the protest was smaller than expected. Kind of patethic.

I just saw an article which quoted the leader of the opposition, Milliband, as saying that the protesters represent the "mainstream majority". I could not disagree with him more.

These protesters are out for their own benefit, not for the benefit of the country as a whole. The probably stand to lose 'something', be it a job, a welfare cheque or even security in their neighbourhood due to police cuts, but they always forget who is responsible for bringing us to this situation. Ah yes, the previous government should take quite a bit of the blame. Yet the leader of that party has the cheek to preach at these protests. It's incredible in my eyes.

In summary, these protests will not bring about freedom from corporate slavery, as one poster here put it. Nothing more than a pseudo political rally from one half of the left right paradigm.

Right on I went to post a thread regarding the March 26 London "protest" (I quote protest because the original video I saw that was from the English guy that called for the people to come together today did so by calling for a day of non-compliance more so than protest) but I saw this thread already posted. I had really hoped that more people would have been aware of the importance that today signified, which is disheartening to say the least (by the lack of participation thus far in this thread. BUT what is even more disheartening is seeing how things are actually beginning to play out over there...AT FIRST BUT THEN:

Protesters break into bank, clash with cops as London march turns violent

Follow latest updates at twitter.com... and www.facebook.com... Tens of thousands of mostly peaceful demonstrators streamed into central London on Saturday to march against government budget cuts, with a small breakaway group smashing its way into a bank, breaking windows and spray painting logos on the walls. Another group of black-clad protesters hurled paint bombs and ammonia-filled light bulbs at police. Organisers of the march estimated that at least 250,000 people from across the country were peacefully joining in the demonstration, the biggest protest in London since a series of rallies against the Iraq war in 2003. Police said they were not giving out crowd estimates.

You realize that....well hell this youtube poster says it BEST with:

LADIES AND GENTS THEY ARE agent provocateurs, notice no one in plain clothing is taking part. ALSO, notice at the end police come in the EXACT moment the dressed in black agent provocateurs leave, I mean where did the police go, they were blocking the entrance at first, then POOF they are gone and Agent provocateurs go crazy for the cameras

THAT is what REALLY happens today folks. We MUST do our best to ensure act's like these reach the widest dissemination as possible. This tactic of the NWO has gone on for far too long and has had a POWERFUL impact through being reported/shown by the MAINSTREAM PROPAGANDA MEDIA COMPLEX in the shaping of world public opinion. We MUST DENY THIS IGNORANCE and expose what really is going on and that this, just like many other "protests" are held by TRUE PEOPLE WANTING TRUE CHANGE but instead gets infiltrated by these NWO puppet thugs with their freaking faces covered!!

Let me tell you....LET ME ever be at an event like that and see these Agent Provocateurs with their faces covered going around and smashing up the place representing like they are one of the people...cause the NEXT thing you would see is me and my bro's dragging these corrupt POS around into an alley to receive the beat down of a lifetime. But in the meantime people....as more and more people awaken it is URGENT that this practice is exposed. For that reason I STILL am tempted to make this into it's own thread, but out of respect for the OP post....I digress.

Thank you OP for bringing this day to light.

Take note of even more Agent Provocateurs (always the ones dressed in black with black hoodies and faces covered), but if you notice you will see that the ONLY ones taking an aggressive stance with the police, hell actually ASSAULTING the police is those that are ALWAYS seen that JUST SO happen to be all in black with faces covered! This is NOT how the people feel and what the people want!! The people need to wake up and realize that those Agent Provocateurs ARE THE VERY SAME ENEMY (or who are working for and support the same enemy) that brought the people out in protest in the first place!

That video definitely mixed up footage from todays protest and the last student protest. Where the copper gets booted by his horse was at the student protests a few months ago.

As I understand it the nature of the protest is to say that either the cuts are too deep or should not be made at all. If you speak to protestors they will talk about how the banks were bailed out with their money and now the poorest in society are being punished again. To be honest I don't know how you could disagree with this fact.
The idea isn't to play the blame game of who is responsible, nor was this a protest on behalf of one party or another.
