The Americans won WW2?

ahhhhhhhh NO !!!

You took out Japan but Europe's war was won by the Russians and the Brits.

----------------------------------------
I seem to recall a General named Patton who gave the German Army many headaches.
I think there was also an American 5 star General in charge named Eisenhower.
You should probably stop trying to re-write history.

germany doesn't need the insanity
they know a loosing mess when they see it
don't cha think by now

PS
without the russians and the canadians ( the brits helped)
which is why many times the germans expressed respect for the canadians
since when did they ever say respect about fighting Americans?
they liked your ford trucks thats why they were still taking delivery of those american made war machines halfway through the war

jeez
you armed the enemy
without that there wouldn't have been one

The same Germany that in 2008 had close military ties with China and embraced the "One China" policy...then 2 years later dropped that policy and decided to sell military hardware to Taiwan?

Don't believe what they say....just keep an eye on what they are doing.

Germany decommissioned almost every single submarine they have early...so they can be sold. Who's looking for submarines in the world today? Vietnam-Taiwan to counter China.

Germany's in WWIII up to their necks right now.

I think all 3 of us - Americans - British - Russians - worked together to bring Hitler down.
The Nazis were doomed and they knew it. They started bugging out to Argentina in 1944.
Many are still there today.

Back to topic, not ally-bashing:

It hasn't even been a week yet, for crying out loud.

Gaddafi can't put anything in the air now, and very little on the roads to reinforce his troops without it getting blown to bits.

Because of the horribly bad delay in getting the NFZ rolling, the rebels are going to need a few more days to re-arm and get up to full steam like they were three weeks ago.

Meanwhile, targets such as artillery, ammo dumps and tanks are being taken apart one-by-one.

Deep divisions between allied forces currently bombing Libya worsened today as the German military announced it was pulling forces out of NATO over continued disagreement on who will lead the campaign.

A German military spokesman said it was recalling two frigates and AWACS surveillance plane crews from the Mediterranean, after fears they would be drawn into the conflict if NATO takes over control from the U.S.

We are all getting a clearer picture of where this Libyan campaign is headed - and it's not good at all.

If the mission falls apart with Gaddafi still in power then the following will be true:

- Gaddafi will turn and slaughter the people we said we were doing this to protecct.

- Gaddafi will be one pissed off SOB at the west, and will no doubt retaliate with terror attacks and any other way he can.

THIS is what lack of leadership causes.

So if someone killed your son what would you do? This "coalition" and preemptive war without the people approval is wrong and imperialist.

It should be left with the African Union to lead the plan and pick up the pieces. If things start to get out of hand and they call for back up, the public support of the world would be right behind it. If if there is a problem in Europe, it is up to the EU to sort it out. Here the problem is in Africa so it is up to Africa to fix it. The African Union is still a relatively young organisation as far as these things go but it is getting its act together.

There was a lot of tension in the Ivory Coast a couple of months ago with France looking like it was about to kick off a civil war, but the African Union is making ground towards a peaceful resolution. These things take time if it is to be sorted out properly as there are many implications involved.

The United Nations still falls over a lot with its aims in what it is trying to achieve, but it is getting better by making these mistakes and learning from it. It is the same thing here if Africa is to finally sort its conflict and strife out. If you honestly care about the people of Libya and Africa then supporting the African Union is the best way I see out of this mess.

There is no shame for the US and NATO to pull out before this goes to far, as it shows that you can learn from your mistakes. Just let this disarray in leadership continue and it will all fade away. You might even see some support rise as restraint is used.

Yes, the biggest red flag is that Qaddafi was forced to bring in mercenaries to do his fighting for him.
Don't forget 2 of his pilots defected to Malta.

We could win this in 2 months.

people on ATS here are willing to support a war on Libya but not a war on iraq? oh brother the war in libya has been about oil.

If you cant see that then you better start seeing it, for thats why the west backs the rebels the rebels are protecting the oil asset to NATO.

The Battle Of Britain was 10th July – 31st October 1940. Over 12 months before Pearl Harbor and we already had friendly allies helping us out.

From Wiki;

Battle Of Britain

Many squadrons and personnel from the air forces of the Dominions were already attached to the RAF, including top level commanders — Australians, Canadians, New Zealanders, Rhodesians and South Africans. In addition, there were other nationalities represented, including Free French, Belgian and a Jewish pilot from the British mandate of Palestine. They were bolstered by the arrival of fresh Czechoslovak and Polish squadrons.

We had pilots from all corners of the world helping us.
