Dame Elizabeth Taylor, one of the 20th Century's biggest movie stars, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 79.

The double Oscar-winning actress had a long history of ill health and was being treated for symptoms of congestive heart failure.

She was truly one of the greats. We'll miss you Liz.

One of the few who had both natural beauty, striking talent, and a screen presence that few could compete with.

I will miss your purple eyes.

Liz Taylor, what a gem!
She was beautiful, and her gorgeous lilac eyes were amazing.

A truely iconic actress.

She will missed.

Those violet eyes were stunning. Hollywood has lost its brightest remaining jewel of the Golden Age.

Rip Ma'am.

Damn...I was hoping she wanted to marry again!
But yes what a sad thing and a wonderful spirit has been lost, she truly was a star.
