I believe AIDS was first found in a gay airline flight attendant that had sex all over the world as he flew around for work.

I just think it's a shame that something so beautiful and natural as being gay would lead to such a deadly disease. It's almost as though nature was trying to say, "I can't bear to see such a beautiful and natural thing go on in the world."

Thats what some religions would lead you to believe. That and even maasterbation is wrong. My teachers in school used to tell us not to masterbate, to read or walk instead, lol. I know there is no reasoning with people of this mindset who call them disgusting and not equal as humans. It's just really sad that even in this day and age that people still hold these type of feelings towards our fellow brothers and sisters. I am probably too tolerant though; I don't fault people for their emotional response. They don't choose to be disgusted by gay people anymore than I choose to be disgusted by all sorts of things.

I have often wondered about the idea of free will. Are we controlled by our chemistry and environment? Or can we operate outside of these influences... To put it in an over simplification...

You changed your position and said that what you really meant was that, because homosexual intercourse cannot lead to reproduction, it is not normal.

What, exactly, does normal mean to you? Does it mean "the most common practice"? Is it a code-word for "natural"?

If you mean that homosexuality is not the most common practice, then you're not really saying anything of substance, whatsoever. It being less common than same-sex coupling does not make it bad, or wrong, or undesirable. If you mean that homosexuality is not a natural practice, then we are back to square one; it is natural, there are natural desires that lead to it, and it is no less natural than heterosexual sex.

Normal means something that is common. Homosexuality is not normal in the sense that statistically a small number of people identify as being homosexual.

Natural though is a word with all sorts of meanings. What does natural mean to you?

In mice populations, when they become over poopulated there is a rise in homosexual activity. I think this is because to thrive, mammals need not only proper nutrition (food water) but emotional security, and sharing a physical bond with another being is part of that. Sex and relationships are not solely about reproduction even in other species of the animal kingdom. And let us not ignore the homosexual population of plants.

I have no problem with people who are intolerant towards gays i just don't understand the mindset stop shoving it in our faces..If the gay community where treated as equal human beings and had the same rights there would be no need to shove anything in anyones face. This whole thread for the most part is based on an argument that they knew would go no where and would be openly used to just bash gay people and their lifestyle that my friend is sad in my opinion.

No, They do not want kids to know gay people exist until the children are old enough to make their own decisions. One of the interviewees was scared that some of the children being educated about being gay might end up thinking they are gay....Well something like that, I guess you understand where I'm going.

This argument seems to forget that Homosexuals are part of a larger family and society. You see there is a really big problem we have and it stems from the fact that not all reproductive pairings in our species are able to raise their children. Parents die or are just -fail-. This is natural, it just happens, I don't call it unnatural. However nature has also provided a home for these children by creating non reproductive-yet still family oriented- members of a species to exist (also applys to infertile heteros). Additionally even if the Homosexuals don't adopt they still have the children of their own family (Nieces, Nephews) to whom they contribute resources to their survival (money, time, etc.)

Once we step out of the outmoded and narrow 'well they can't make babies" argument you can see that Homosexuals could and should be playing a very important role in the survival of our species. Its ashame we have to waste that potential because of outmoded ways of thinking.

I dont know what you are getting at in your last comment my friend i have openly stated i love all my brothers and sisters upon this earth i would help any who is in need. You cannot make someone gay...my friend was gay his whole life since we were little and made advances on me and my friends haha but i can assure none of my other friends or I are any gayer today because of it..How do you think educating children about the existence of gay people will turn them gay??

And we shouldn't confuse straight children! As we all know, children will do anything to fit in, even if it means having gay sex because of peer pressure! This problem is totally nonexistent for heterosexual children, who are never pressured into any uncomfortable sexual situations and are never confused about their sexuality.

I believe all sexual orentations are normal. If you're gay, you're gay. If you're staight, your straight. Just don't push it on others. Like you said it should be a non-issue. But until the government butts out...no pun intended...it will be a problem for the gay man or woman. They don't have to make laws about it. But they let their personal feelings get in the way of their duties which is to serve their electorates.
