Spring Break - Jelly Fish covered beach

Its the start of beach season down here in good ole, dirty Galveston.....
I'm usually at the beach atleast 3 or 4 times a month during the spring/summer.... Never have I seen a jelly fish on this beach I typically go to.... Never have I seen hundreds, maybe even thousands of dead jellyfish...
That is until this past Sunday.... Also this beach is typically the cleanest most private beach. You never see all the kelp or seaweed or what ever that stuff the dead fish were in along the shore.
So i'm wondering does this have anything to do with all the mass die offs, magnetic north, or maybe the oil in the Gulf???
Either way, I didnt go into the water... mainly because that sh!t was cold as helll... So I waited to get back to the hotel and bellyflopped in the pool(also cold as the balls on a brass monkey) .....I have yet to find my testicles

I think these were baby jellyfish, they were everywhere as well

Awww the poor little things.. I cant help it I have a soft spot for jelly fish... oops sorry no pun intended. One more animal die off to add to the list.

Crazy if thats what they are, but that is exactly how they looked on the beach... But form the wiki page they should not even be on a beach in the Gulf of Mexican, nor in cold water. I mean the water wasnt really freezing but cold enough with the combined wind, I was not trying to get sick.

Galveston, TX, on Bolivar Peninsula, Emerald Beach

This is about the time of year they are more prevalent in the Gulf and Caribbean. I plan my annual Caribbean trips at the end of April, specifically for that reason.

To add, they also seem to become more active just before, during, and a few days after full moons. Just putting that out there.

Yeah and they travel by curents. That is strange man. Must have been cool to see.
If I seen 1 I would have took it as a specimen in a jar Thats just me cuz Im a animal nerd

Bolivar Peninsula, TX, We had just left Tiki Grill marked by the "A" on this MAP

Then drive down west ln to the beach, The Jelly fish were scatter all over the shore line from beyond west rd to were about the sand bar is

You can even see from google the beach is usually clean and clear of any debris, except that day

Hardly a conspiracy.

Jellyfish are not very strong swimmers (obviously), and are at the mercy of tides and currents.

This actually happens quite a lot:

2010: Tens of thousands of jellyfish like a 'cobblestone walkway ' washed up on a San Francisco beach
2009: Thousands of jellyfish washed ashore in Cornwall
2004: Compass Jellyfish lose their bearings
2003: Jellyfish Wash Up On Beach
1993: 700 More Beachgoers Are Stung In Jellyfish Invasion

I remember the Outer banks vacation i had 1 yrs ago
one night i decided to take a long walk on the beach to reach a wooden quai far away
i walked my way between them for at least 5 km ..thousand of these jelly fish were on the sand
by the time i reach my destination .. and return all the way back it was dark
i had apx 25 mouskito bites but my feet were ok... no burning feeling
after steping on a few jellyfish by mistake during my walk trip

DISGUSTING FEELING

next night they were all gone .. and then another night ahead thousand of multicolor sea shells
were on the sand

mother nature was giving us some kind of a surprise on the beach almost each nights

regarding these massive jelly fish deaths .. is it natural after coupling ? or else .. ?

I have been to Galveston TONS of times, and every time I go, I always see several jelly fish... For what it is worth.

Not hundreds or thousands... But I always see several washed up on the beach.
