CAIRO (Reuters) - Fire tore through a building in the Egyptian Interior Ministry compound in central Cairo on Tuesday and a ministry source said it was probably linked to a protest by police over pay and conditions.

Just thought I'd post for information purposes. I thought things were calming down in Egypt. relatively speaking of course.

Whoa, the police themselves torched the place?
That could get interesting.

Seven floors went up in flames. Seems to be under control now per CNN.

Torched to protest pay or torched to destroy evidence?

I'm pretty sure lots of goons and sycophants who served Mubarak do not want the evidence of their crimes in the hands of and angry and vengeful public.

That's actually a good point; as I understand, there was rampant corruption. I'm sure some of the higher-ups in the police force have some things they'd very much benefit from keeping from the public.

There is a lot of information that people want destroyed in that country.


Just curious but does anyone know where Mubarack is at this moment and time? I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this with a source and not just rumour.

Just thinking that since our prez and Hilary and a number of elite are elsewhere, near bunkers and all, well... Maybe M is in that position too...
