Facebook are deleting the resist26 accounts, and all accounts related to the cause. I'm not on facebook, so i can't verify this, maybe someone who has an account could do this. Anyway, that aside, the protest is still going ahead. After the march on saturday, there will be a 24 hour occupation of hyde park, in London. if you intend to come, bring food and drinks to share, tents, music, stuff to make noise with, ect. The usual.

here's the resist26 website
www.resist26.org...

And a little video, to play along with
vimeo.com...

The revolution may not be on facebook, it may not be televised, but it's still on.

Power to the people.

Edit to add- also Trafalgar Square willalso be occupied, in protest to the homeless laws that are coming in, banning organisations from feeding them.

What does the TUC have to do with this ?

Good cause but just concerned that the TUC are associated with it!

The TUC are helping organise the main protest against the cuts, but there are lots of feeder marches, and the TUC are, as far as i'm aware, nothing to do with the occupation of HP and TS.

There is a Resist26 account currently active on Facebook.

Here's the opening post:

Resist 26

Another post:

Resist26! JOIN US ON MARCH 26TH IN LONDON!
www.youtube.com
Join us in London for 24 hours of occupation, party and protest! Full information

It seems this account is still active although there were only 40 or so followers when I checked this morning.

And here is their description / mission statement.
Note: Interesting that they reference the RNC protests.

Resist26! is an autonomous group of individuals who aims to support resistance on March 26th in London:

As a group we:

* Oppose capitalism, imperialism and the state.
* Believe in the power of decentralised organising with autonomy and mutual aid as its core principles.
* Oppose the police, “justice” system and industrial prison complex.
* Directly confront systems and relationships of oppression, e.g. Patriarchy, homophobia, racism and class.
* Support the victims of state (and any other) oppression.
* Oppose the commodification of our land-bases and of the environment.

We support the St Paul’s Principle’s as used during the RNC protests in the US.

The principles are:

1. Our solidarity will be based on respect for a diversity of tactics and the plans of other groups.

2. The actions and tactics used will be organized to maintain a separation of time or space.

3. Any debates or criticisms will stay internal to the movement, avoiding any public or media denunciations of fellow activists and events.

4. We oppose any state repression of dissent, including surveillance, infiltration, disruption and violence. We agree not to assist law enforcement actions against activists and others

Thanks
That cleared up my mistake

Although it seems I was a little wrong, it's the stay4 1day stuff which has been taken down. (according to the resist26 site)

except there are NO "Homeless laws" coming in - westminster council has proposed a BYLAW, which is a different thing entirely...

either way, they're trying to stop charities from feeding the homeless, this is so very very wrong.

Anyway, here is some useful information about the day, with some info on what to do if you are arrested at a demo. (and a free after party!)

and edit to add a new facebook group (as of now, still active) for the stay4-1day sit ins
