Dude (or lady, whatever), my humble advice is to at least try Firefox. Under the Tools menu you can install several great add-ons, to wit:
addons.mozilla.org...
addons.mozilla.org...
addons.mozilla.org...
addons.mozilla.org... (not security-related, but badass nonetheless)
and
addons.mozilla.org...

firefox is under serious consideration at the moment. i am researching all the possible pros and cons as i have
admin rights and have ran and tweaked ie from post windows 3.1.

You are most welcome. Opera is also a great browser, and if you care for the truly arcane, install Linux and use "links" or "lynx."
Terrible stuff, man. Only recommended due to my ridiculous level of inebriation. :beer:

in an inebriated state i stay away from all forms of machine excluding dvd/tv/music and fridge. pretty basic functions which don't hurt my head or facilitate my eagerness to make a bigger t*t out of myself.

Use Hijack This, if you learn how to use this tool, it will take care of most browser hijack issues.
