This is just a thought. What if all those prophets of the Bible and Nostradamus and others really did have visions?

Visions of a future they couldn't understand. Visions they had to interpret. Did they see from a birds eye view or what?

All those weird things they saw, like pigs with wings and thundering horsemen and ghosts on chariots with wheels of flame(concocted examples, I know). If they were really psychic, just what might they really have been seeing?

What if what they were seeing was through the eyes of modern humans. What if they were seeing now, through our eyes. First, they would not have possessed the context with which to understand what it was they were seeing except the context of their own times.

Here is where the "what if, gets fun. What if these psychics were drawn to psychic outbursts from the future? Huge psychic outbursts from masses of people engaged in adrenaline pumping fear. Bombs and wars and stuff. Major horror. And the pigs with wings?

What if huge adrenaline generated psychic outbursts from all of us was beamed back to those guys while we were in dark theaters watching 2012 or Ghost Rider in IMAX 3D? How would they know they were seeing fiction of the future and not the facts of the future?

I was just thinking.

i really didn't want to click on this post because of the boring title, (i'm sure most of you are thinking....."oh.. another nut. this is why we can't have nice things...."

but i find this idea very interesting. a cinema screen would be perceived as a huge window. now let's take a look at that movie called 2012...

i like it....interesting theory......i'd lean more towards the war/disaster adrenalin downstream dump than a movie, but who really knows.........maybe in addition to movies...mmo's halo/cod black ops....you've got millions playing those at one time.......neat stuff.... a good thread before bed !!!!

totally awesome idea! lol, i think i better stop watching porn

seriously though, if they tuned in to anything which our brain perceived they may have ended up reading the minds of hippies at Woodstock which could explain for a lot!

My wife and I were watching 2012 and the liner was capsizing and one guy turned and faced the coming wave and I thought of what I might do in that situation. I experienced vertigo in a virtual experience, and some how that just opened up to the idea of the post.

one might be an idiot one minute and the next..speak profound things or think them.
I don't understand the original post really and when young I sure did think idiotic things and probably still do.
Maybe the prophets of old really did see the future as it really will be but could not comprehend it. When I
was a teen I could not have comprehended the internet and heck could not really explain what electricity and
magnetism is on paper..much less the intricies of the computer and its programming.
There was an older tv program I used to watch and one episode told of a soldier ( civil war era? ) who kept
having visions of a war going on using terrifying forms of energy..hummm..laser?..If I am not mistaken and
that is an if..these stories were based on facts. Maybe what mankind could be headed for is too unpleasant
for those of us stuck in this era to digest. Maybe it was the program one step beyond, not sure.

Nostradamus explained himself how he saw his future events.
Had the bowl with water in it, under a burning flame, all that hocus pocus stuff, and he'd look into the bowl and see events happening.
Couldn't be watching thru people's eyes watching TV/Movies because a lot of his predictions included events hundreds of years before TV and Film were invented.

You are absolutely right in these questions, I've seen too many documentaries on visionaries (including nostradamus) and they all seem to agree that the descriptions can't be taken literally - because they didn't know what the heck an airplane was - to them it was a bird on fire.

The question I posed was "what if they were watching our motion pictures, movies", and/or seeing into a timeline that we're just not on. Another dimension? another world? who knows...

Its totally possible though - its a shame this thread didn't get more attention.

If that turned out to be true - we could accept the fact that people living in our time do truly have visions, and understand why some of them are wrong.

Thats not entirely accurate, we make documentaries today on things that happened between his time and ours.
