Incidentally, I believe the OP was suggesting that NASA would stand to get more funding if they announced that there were pyramids on Mars, or that they spotted an alien starship, or that a brown dwarf was on a collision course with Earth. Yes, they probably would. It might make some of you happy, but it would be a lie. NASA has serious responsibilities.

The OP is not trolling, he may be using satire to get his point across but it is a rather valid point nonetheless.

He is saying if NASA just lied to everyone and said all the things that UFO believers think are real, are really real. They would make a good number of people happy (or scared) and get more funding.

As in, NASA claiming their were aliens would bring them more money....

NASA has probably given us a few fibs during the years -
but they leave the big lies to TPTB, they are much more
qualified for the position, they have many years
of experience in the field.
