Truer words have never been spoken, beautifully done. I have even tried to look at a scenario where if we where all subject to a single world rule, what wonders could we create combining all the resources of the world. Unfortunately the senseless desire for wealth and power would prevent such a possibility. My reasoning is simple; even if we all had everything we needed to live, free of charge, and technology that would allow us to travel to distant stars and perhaps even create something akin to say the federation, TPTB would not be satisfied. I believe instead they would feel less important or powerful than they feel they should be. Humanity would not require such "rulers" if all mankind where fed, sheltered, and treated equally. Even the biggest room in a house full of people seems less than desirable to those who want it all.

Why did you do nothing when when your gov'ts impressed Communism, Fascism, Socialism, Feudalism.... why did you do nothing.

Why didn't you stop your gov'ts from assasinating political dissidents...

Sadly, Fox is absolutely correct....

People are very similar to social herd animals. They follow a leader, an alpha. If you disagree with the direction and decisions of the current alphas, then please, set up and challenge them for leadership. Until you do, you are nothing but hot air. I realize that is harsh but it is the truth.

Time and time again, I see people complain about their circumstances but do little or nothing to change them. No one will lift you up where you think you belong. You must do it for yourself....

Now usually comes the whine about how you can't do it because of [insert common complaint here - lack of education, lack of resources, lack of a voice, etc...]. If that's the case, your only option will be to start a revolution. Power of the people over the power of the few. Start down this road and you'll see just exactly how apathetic people are. They simply don't care because they are too fat, stupid. and happy to care. It's the whole pain vs. pleasure principle. Perhaps those leaders you want to denigrate have figured out the magic key to make that happen to their benefit, eh? I would say this makes them smart and to be respected. You have to understand your foe before you can beat him.
