Fed quarintines over 1 billion $100 bills after misprint

www.theblaze.com

The Federal Reserve is scrambling for answers after it was discovered that it misprinted over 1 billion new, high-tech $100 bills, rendering the the bills unusable and costing taxpayers about $120 million.

CNBC reports that the bills, due out in February 2011, are so complex and chock full of high-tech security measures that regular printers are having difficulty producing the bills. Those printing complications, a source told CNBC, led to 1.1 billion bills — the total number of new bills produced thus far — being quarantined in Texas and Washington, D.C. vaults.

Not sure if this story has been prominent here, at least I couldn't find it. So I thought I would help out some. The Fed is not our friend. I have seen some great stuff posted on ATS and some great interviews with Congressmen Ron Paul, of Texas.

I guess they don't have to worry about counterfeiting. They can't even get it right themselves. lol. I'm sure they're not too worried though. It's just taxpayer money, I'm sure they'll squeeze more out of the least able to afford it.

The "Fed" has it made. How many other private corporations can screw up and push the cost onto the backs of We the People? Then again, it seems that Goldman Sachs and any other banking related outfit gets to do the same thing these days.

Hell, they're too big to fail right? Just keep loading more and more debt on our backs until they get everything the way they want it while our kids and theirs are expected to pay off this ridiculous debt that they had no input regarding incurring said debt. The shoe will eventually drop and when it does the aftermath is NOT going to be pretty.

These SOBs have dotted lines on their necks indicating the best spot for the ropes we'll be making from hemp that they've illegally outlawed. I guess if they want one last smoke, we'll let them have a hemp cigarette. Sucks for them that hemp has little if any THC even though they'll send one of their SWAT teams to rough up anyone growing it.

How stupid can a people be to let a private corporation print their money for them, then, borrow their own money at interest...We are paying about 8 billions dollars a day now in interest to the fed.res.I wish I could find a country that would let me print some money for them and loan it back to them....Insanity.....at it's best !!!

Sorry.....but let's face it - the peoplecan be as bright or stupid as the USA and have it happen....

how come anyway?

I've read the Wiki article on the Fed reserve but have a hard time understanding the technicalesse.

The Bank of England used to be privately owned but was natinoalised after WW2, and pretty much everywhere these days has a Govt owned central bank.....

So after the Fed has pushed out trillions of dollars on the sly, is this another attempt to pass on more money to its mates? Say there is an error, lock the stuff away and then tell everyone it was destroyed as pallets of the stuff is taken out the back door. I maybe wrong, but with the foxes in the hen house for a while now the trust is getting a little thin. Does anyone know what kind of review and oversight there has been to this? Is there actual video evidence of its destruction? Not just a bunch of paper filled boxes on fire.

You've hit the crux of the "argument". We can all bitch, whine, moan and get pissed off....but if we wish to see the party responsible for allowing our enslavement, it is in every one of our bathrooms....a mirror.

So while one smiles in it, brushes their teeth, combs their hair, checks out their pecs or tries to impress themselves, the image staring back at them is the one fully responsible for allowing this travesty to continue unheeded.

Why should the tax payer foot the bill for a private company screwing up??

Oh, that's funny.

The American tax payer pays every time some private company screws up. At least if that private company happens to be a bank anyway.

What planet are you from?

I think that's their whole plan; make the corruption so obvious that the people rise up and overthrow the scumbags. Of course, the scumbags in charge are only the puppets. Then, conveniently, someone (already chosen by TPTB) will rise up to take the reigns of leadership and we can start the whole dirty process over again.

That way they can impose their socialist world order on us all and say it was what we were fighting for when we overthrew the old order.

this 1.1 Billion dollars will be freely
given to the Chinese. In return, China
will not crash the Dow Jones Stock
Exchange or trash the US Credit rating
to junk status or devalue the US Dollar.
It's financial blackmail money that will
wind up in a vault in China cuz China
won't accept digital US Dollars anymore.
And this is the best cover story they
could find to run the printing presses.
my theory.

1 billion $100 bills?

Yeah, they'll just print more. Maybe even more since they had to go through the extra trouble anyway.

The Federal Reserve stopped reporting exactly how much money it creates years ago.

Obviously quality control doesn't exist at the Federal mint..
I wonder how long these misprints were being printed before someone bothered to check..

It's actually $100billion if the link is correct..
And it wouldn't hurt the US economy if it's not on the books and only used in China..
