Supporting role? We've fired 122 of the 124 Tomahawks into Libya. We poured the concrete, put up the beams, and installed the rafters. All the coalition did was stick a couple of shingles on top.

So far, anyway.

No, we didn't do it all. We've shot a bunch of missiles. For your analogy to be correct, no one would be 'building' anything at all. Just demolition. By several different parties.

America shot a bunch of missiles. Other governments have shot stuff from planes. There are at French and Canadian aircraft in the air. The US is most certainly not playing a dominant roll in this. They are participating, as are several other countries. Canada even sent over several fighter. Does the US even have any wings in the air?

Believe it or not, there ARE other military in the world beside the us.

U.S. Air Force aircraft strike Libya

Yes, there are many air forces in the operation but the U.S. is definitely putting some iron to the ground. You can figure with the load outs of the aircraft mentioned in that link that you can put the hurt on a hundred plus targets. Targets would be a mix of command control structures and the CJ's playing wild weasel with the SA-5s or whatever other surface to air threats Libya has in place.

The Strike Eagle in the picture accompanying the article is most definitely loaded air-to-ground and I bet they rolled deep from the Heath.

Putin Likens U.N. Libya resolution to Crusade calls

Putin condems trend of US military intervention

Figures... toss this in the mix now. They decline to veto the vote in the UN and make this announcement on the out come.

"And all of this under the guise of protecting peaceful civilians. Where is the logic, where is the conscience? There is neither one nor the other," Putin said.

Noting that the United States had already involved itself in the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq, Putin added: "Now it's Libya's turn.

Even without seeing a video I can imagine how "Now it's Libya's turn." was delivered.

Thats a bit rich from Russia esp after there campaign in Afganistan

Was it Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce who claimed Russia would be the last base of free men when the 3rd great war kicks off?

I don't put to much faith in prophecies, but more & more piece's are coming together.

If Israel do decide to act on there threats to Iran god help us all

Yep, the Russians, like the Arabs get to benefit from the outcome of this action while publicly condoning it. They get to play both sides, The arabs by asking for it and then feigning ignorance at the clearly-outlined fine-print, and the Russians by not vetoing it and then saying it shouldn't have happened. IF they felt that way, they should have vetoed it.

But both those groups know that they can speak out of two sides of their mouth and at least some will not catch the discrepancy. You can even see it here on ATS>
