How Do We Explain the Close Encounters?

While we may not have proof that UFOs are extraterrestrial, we do have evidence that UFOs exist and that they are under intelligent control. Some would agree with this statement, but this thread is addressed primarily to those who do not. What I'm looking for are some alternative explanations for reports such as the Trans-en-Provence report, in which an unusual object apparently maneuvering under intelligent control is witnessed in daylight at a distance close enough to eliminate the likelihood of misidentification.

We are looking for explanations for the existence of the report itself, not for explanations of what the object might have been. My explanation for this report, and others like it, is that the event actually happened as described. The question here is whether or not these kind of events occur as reported. The question of what the objects reported might represent is secondary until such time as we find ourselves on the same page regarding the objective reality of the event itself. If we can satisfy ourselves that event did, in fact, occur, then we can begin to speculate about what the thing was. But first thing's first. Do we have reason to doubt the reality of this kind of occurrence other than our personal confidence that things like this cannot occur, and that therefore they don't? And if they do not occur, what explanation can we offer for the existence of the Trans-en-Provence report and others like it? Must they all be elaborate hoaxes, or can we come up with alternate answers?

Simply answer. Super top secret experimental terrestrial air/space/multi-dimensional craft that defy public knowledge of aeronautics. Simple. To good stuff is saved for the military. They don't worry about testing vessels in the open because they can deny them and shroud them in the stigma of being a alien ufo or whatever and said story is dismissed. They can also be advanced human ancient astronauts that left the planet on a deep space mission and returned to find that their civilization is gone or ships that time traveled from the past or the future or a different dimension.

Honestly some cases are unexplainable because proper data and evidence wasn't collected or couldn't be collected.

heres one for you, ufos are vehicles that are built and controled by super intelligant lab animals who created robots that look like aliens in order to get revenge by perfforming expiriments on us

Thanks for the reply, but if you read the post, I'm specifically not looking for ideas regarding what the alleged objects might be, but rather what the alternatives might be for these incidents actually having happened as reported. If you think they did happen, then you can speculate about what the object was. But if you don't think the incidents happened, what are some thoughts on why these reports exist.
