Scientists are working to determine what caused oxygen levels to drop so steeply that fish estimated to be in the millions suffocated and deposited a silver sheen of carcasses, many of them sardines, among the rows of docked boats.

...THe OP doesn't know how to use a compass, then a few of you also who don't know how to use a compass only gave him a reason to keep going. This is clearly non-scientific with most people who actually understand compasses realize the difference between true and magnetic north. You need a map, a compass, and a reference point all in order to get coordinance.
This thread is a map and compass with no reference point.edit on 20-3-2011 by THEDUDE86 because: (no reason given)

Karmøy (karmoy) is 150 miles to the west. We`re also talking extreme differences in terrain as well. From rugged mountain to steep fjords, from calm wather to stormy gulf stream northern winds.
I just want to hear what a few other people have to say, so you and me might as well ignore this and watch the data that now pops up taking into consideration the threads info.
So you don't think it at all strange that the many sensitive, calibrated and accurate magnetometers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the US and the pacific are ALL showing nothing unusual.
But the extremely inaccurate hand measurements taken by individuals measuring according to the direction of the moon (not east), the sun (not east) or where they think they remember their family once said they thought it was, or with broken compasses and with measurements that vary by no less than 60 degrees are somehow more accurate than these monitoring stations all over the world!?
Why is it so unreasonable to insist on evidence?

I am the one from southwest virginia that first checked my compass when mad dog contacted me. Do you reliaze how many hours he spent on this thread? Maybe he just missed spoked China for Japan after spending so many hours following this thread and researching what he could. Come on give me a break and take a look at your own compass and how many other people on this thread are having the same problem. I've spent my whole like using a compass hunting, fishing and such and I am damn near 50 years old. You think you are going to tell me that mad dog doesn't know what he is talking about I think you had better look over the whole thread before you get uptight with the differenece of Japan and China becuase they all look alike to me. Keep going Mad Dog and everyone on this thread who sees what is happening.

Do people really think that this many replies would be occuring if there was "nothing to this"?
I mean 20+ pages worth of posts. You read the OP and without so much as reading 1 full page of replies you & several others have determined that there's nothing at all to it and the OP was trying to "scare people".
It's ANNOYING!
