My username is a Roman title for the constellation Virgo, and a variation of Astraea (Greek mythology) the last of the immortals to live among humans. Fleeing at the end of the Iron Age because of the wickedness of humans, she escaped into the heavens to become the constellation Virgo.

Nice thread going here.. no fighting is cool

Mine is a phonetic way of saying Taliesin, one of the "Merlyn" spirits as Bard's in ancient England.

Yeah.. pretty boring stuff huh?

But.. my online sim-racing name is WMS-OldFrt.... the WMS for our team name of "Where's My Slippers" and the OldFrt is self explanatory I would think

There is only 1 person who knows what my screen name is. I am awaiting that person to contact me... Although I sometimes doubt that day will actually come.

my screen name has been around my world for about. 15 years.

it's misspelled on purpose. the correct spelling is "zooplankton".

zooplankton is the life that lives in the top 2" of sea water.
it's the top or bottom of the food chain however you might look at it.

once zooplankton is gone, everything else will follow suit.

so...

Well mine comes from a BBS i ran in the late 80's. It was originally RedBarron's Rooste and i had a dedicated phone line from 6a.m. to 6p.m. I have used it as an email address since, well since email addresses came into being. One of the MANY reasons i like ATS is it reminds me of the early days of BBS's and the people who logged on from various places and great light conversations like this one.

"grumpy day sleeper" because I worked graveyard shift for years.... and I was grumpy when inconsiderate idiots decided to phone me or drop in uninvited to visit during the daytime while I was trying to sleep!
I finally threatened to come and visit them at 3:00 AM

Great thread, as I am often curious about posters' usernames.

Mine comes from wanting the word mystic in the name, as I follow a mystic path. My first choice on a forum around 12 years ago was mystic moon, but as that had already been taken, I settled for mystic noon, or mysticnoon condensed into one word.

After I created it, I realized that the light of the moon is just a reflection from the sun, so that mysticnoon was symbolically the real thing while mysticmoon was just a reflection, so I was pleased.

I then tried to find an avatar which portrays a mystic noon, and the best I could find was a sun mandala, but only in thumbnail form, which is why it is a bit hazy. Well, so is the noontime sun, so all is good.

edit on 19-3-2011 by mysticnoon because: (no reason given)
