Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was on a high alert and was conducting strict vigilance of the country’s airspace, a BBC Urdu report said. PAF
intensified air patrols over the country’s northwestern tribal areas after a US drone attack in North Waziristan killed over 40 civilians.
PAF had also cancelled the holidays of functionaries assigned to keep vigil on the country’s airspace.
Moreover, the airforce has also cancelled the weekly offs of all officials and functionaries, the report said.
Well, it will be interesting to watch if the mighty US of A backs down and suspends the drone attacks in Waziristan. If it doesn't, then are we going
to witness a battle for the skies between the U.S and Pakistan?
There is I believe a tacit understanding between the Pakistan Military and the US for conducting drone attacks against terrorists ensconced in the
Pak-Afghan border areas. Then why this sudden change of heart by the Pakistanis? Or are they playing to the gallery? After all, most Pakistanis are
anti American. Never mind the billions of tax dollars being handed over to them on a platter!
Or is this related to the the American CIA agent convicted of murdering two Pakistani ISI officials and let off by paying 'blood money' to their
relatives? Needless to say, this caused a huge uproar in Pakistan. How dare they release an American convicted of killing Pakistanis on Pakistan soil?
Well, that's what they're asking their government.
And then the drones kill 40 'terrorists' in Pakistan. That apparently really got their goat and slammed the government for mollycoddling the U.S. of
A. So it's likely that the Pakistan Government is putting up a show by scrambling their fighters jets to calm ruffled feathers.
Now it's American F-16s Vs American drones!! Oh, what an irony!!
