This new gun being tested, has the ability to locate enemy sniper positions and track incoming bullets.

Yeah, i hear you BrainDamage. However i do think our troops need to have the best equipment when they are ordered into action. Sadly, as we know they don't always get the most basic kit by our standards.

@ Rizeordie. I'm not sure about emps. I don't see that as being a huge problem. However, targeting sniper positions is a huge bonus.

So you have to wait for the sniper to shoot first, then you know where he is...gonna suck being the first guy to test that in war.

These weapons will be useless in the next war....BOOOMSHAKALAKAA war over.

Apparently, the Paras were using themselves as target practise against the Taliban while testing this system.

I wonder if they drew straws for that?

Just read the PDF. So it tracks the bullet backwards as opposed to the bang from the gun?

Yeah, it locates the muzzle flash, then tracks the air disturbance.

It's hard to imagine how quick that system must be.

Can't wait for this technology to develop, become compact, and issued as standard equipment.

I do wonder how many targets this system can track at the same time. Also, can this system determine if multiple bullets are coming from the same target?

interesting device but usless in a real firefight as presently implemented

sure somebody is shooting at me just follow the little arrow on the little screen

what is needed is to place two of them on the shoulders with output to a augmented reality-tactical display visor

that teeny tiny screen will produce "rats head, ox's neck" making one a casualty rather quickly.

nice but needs improvement.
