So, about a week before Christmas, I started to feel a lil depressed and I felt like painting to make myself feel better and express how Ive felt. Now, just to let you know, in the past I have done paintings that came true months or even years later. So this particular painting, I felt angry, kind of angry with the world and I was looking through some national geographic magazine for some inspiration, and came across a guy who works at a nuclear plant and the design that the nuclear waste made, inspired me to do this painting. So the image I will present is both the page from National Geographic, and the painting I did, which the woman represents the Earth and I feeling angry and screaming and her Black hair turns into the Ocean and the nuclear waste goes into the ocean, then their are falling leaves representing to me death etc. etc..... You can interpret the rest of the painting how you want.

From previous posts I have had people doubt my sixth sense about hings and make fun of me well, can you explain this? Is this just an interesting consequence or something more? Ive been this way with dreams and artwork since I can remember. Also, please no insults on how I faked this, the time is right on the photo which is a week after I painted it, I promise, I would not waste your, or my time!! If anyone wants to message me personally and share some odd experiences let me know.

Peace, Marriah

the following post will have links of both pictures....

with risk of sounding cliche, i will say this: all artwork is open to the interpretation of the viewer. (yup, 4 years of art school taught me something). you being the artist, have the most intimate perspective of the piece.

that being said, the painting certainly portrays the anguish if "gaia" (personified earth), which seemed to be your intent.

i dare say, perhaps the pain you were picking up on is beyond solely the pain of japan at the moment, for (unfortunately) that is simply one anguish of the earth, and as we know there are many tragedies befalling the earth, and the creatures (humans included) therein.

you said you painted this around x-mas. there was a full lunar eclipse right about that time, and (if you jive with this stuff) the energy was potent. eclipses are traditionally a time to explore the darker aspects of the psyche.

anyhow... it is an evocative work you've created. do you show your work? at galleries? coffee houses? etc.?

cheers

First of all thank you very much, I have had my artwork shown at two local galleries and I was just recently published in a local art journal. And , you hit it right on about how you view the piece. Yes, I do agree that artwork is best viewed accurately by the artist themself but you understood the piece well, and sometimes people can see things that you never noticed before. My first piece that happened a year later, (it wasnt a big disaster for the world, it was a personal disaster) was actually noticed by my aunt before I had noticed the painting came to pass. Once again thank you for your comment,
Marriah

Well thanks, but dont tease me because I wanted to look at natural photographs in National Geographic, all im sayin gise is that something about seeing the nuclear plant made me angrier than I already was and I just felt like painting it, I painted it first then the ocean, in my opinion, I am open to the possibility of awareness on another level given the current events. Besides all that, thank you for your comment.
Peace

You are an amazing artist, I wish I could paint like you.

I see death on the right and life on the left. If you enjoy visions about our future, then I suggest you look at this.

Let me get this straight. You looked through a magazine at nuclear plant pictures to get some inspiration. Paint a picture with the images in mind, then wonder if the picture has anything to do with a nuclear accident?

Well..... whatever next eh.

I might look at some famine pictures, then do a quick sketch. When the next famine occurs I'll post a thread claiming I got premonition powers.

Thread fail.

No-For one, I never claimed to have premonition powers at all hence the ? mark after my post title. I simply asked what you all thought, never claiming anything! I was looking through national geographic to get inspiration for a SCENERY type of background, THEN I saw the nuclear plant fuel rods and decided to paint them instead, so your criticism is a ahem, FAIL. How often do we have a major nuclear disaster? I didn;t even know what they were in the picture, spent fuel rods I now know.

Are you really going to tell me that it isn't at least an awesome coincidence that I painted nuclear waste falling into an ocean that is evoking a huge black wave, then on the other side swirling winds with leaves and empty trees, which reminded me of the MSM newscasts talking about how the bark had been ripped off the trees then the videos showed fields of trees stripped bare, it just reminded me of my painting that was done in 2010, right before new years 2011. I haven't posted my other sketches because they are SO coincidental of current events that you guys would call me a FAKE, and not believe me that I drew these BEFORE the events. People that know me well (family and friends) trip out about some of my dreams and sketches or drawings, though I'm not claiming to be a prophet, I can tell you with great confidence that I AM pretty intuitive, (other drawings and dreams that come true after the fact).
Peace,
Marriah
