Do people on here actually read the news? The US said many times in the past week they were hesitant on a "no fly zone" because in order to even BEGIN one you must strike targets (anti-aircraft, SAM's etc).

So people on here think a no fly zone only targets Libya's aircraft? Are you THAT dumb? A NO FLY ZONE entails many things and that inclucdes hitting things on the ground. DUH.

Yet another undeclared war funded with our money to further satiate the endless hunger of the military industrial complex and the energy industry. Our politicians, with the exception of Ron Paul, do not care that they have ceded their power to declare war to an unelected global body. Even worse, it seems that the majority of people are naive enough to believe this is about liberating the people of Libya.

This conflict is not about liberating people. While we support the tyrannical government in Bahrain in its open attack against unarmed protesters we aid the rebels in Libya. Why? Because this is a resource grab and a preemptive, controlled revolution to ensure that the new puppet acquiesces to the powers that be.

Let's dump some depleted uranium all over their cities then bring in BP, who is quite adamant about its contracts with Libyan National Oil, to control their oil resources. You're liberated now Libya, your freedom is just about as tangible as ours. Which means you're one step up from pure slavery.

Because Libyia is the little dog in the room, and you know what happens to little dogs? They get mauled by bigger dogs. This is why you need nukes, keeps big dogs from imposing no-fly zones in your yard.

Alright. To put it simpler to you. For something to be a full scale war there have to be at least two sides making use of all available resources.

In this situation, you will only have aircrafts implementing a no-fly zone. Nowhere near full scale war.

They wallow in their unattached reallity then look around themselves in amazement from time to time to see the real world happening all around them. They cannot comprehend how it is so different from their dellusions which they have accepted as reallity. No, they never took the time to examine history, or the facts in current events. All they can do is describe the differences from their fantasy world and the one they occassionaly lift their head up and take a peek at.

Not much of a war at 50,000 troops? Idk about what you think wholey but 50,000 is a bit more then the local drug cartels and they are giving our country trouble. What makes you think we can just smash a country like that...it hasn't been that simple once yet and we've tried twice.

How is it righteous? The rebels have asked us several times to just "let them do it", America doesn't help the people of the Ivory Coast or the people of S.A, Bosnia, Bahrain, but for some reason the West seems hell-bent on helping Libya.

Russia also claims that these "air strikes" never happened, there are no videos of these "air strikes", no photos, no real evidence. It just seems fishy to me, and awfully similar to Iraq -- and we see how well that turned out.

Iraq all over again. We'll capture Gadhafi in some hole, hang him, then fight guerrilla fighters for another 10 years.

The military-industrial complex will get PAID while millions of unemployed Americans starve and lose their homes and TPTB drive our economy further past the point of no return.

Go turn on AlJazeera and look at the video of the people of Benghazi after the UN decision was announced, they have the video on there.

You have been duped if you think they did not want any outside help. A professionally premade sign hanging from a building in the first few days of the protests, when they had no leadership elected among the rebels at all, is not proof of anything. In fact that clearly points to someone trying to manipulate the situation and has no bearing of proof of the actual masses wishes. As soon as they elected representation, the first thing they asked for was a no fly zone along with supplies and medicine. This was a public calling and the masses did not turn on them for asking for it, that is the proof that those wishes are legitimate.

I have severe mixed thoughts about this, can turn real ugly if it causes even more unrest among other countries in that region allthough i feel and know that Gaddafi has to go.

As for Raptors, none have ever entered Afganistan or Iraq, too expensive to fly and maintain and you cannot keep them in the air for more than 1.5 hours before you get a major system failure. You'll see RAF Harriers, Canadian f18 and USAF F15/16/18 taking out SAM sites and radar installations

Going beyond enforcing a no fly zone is called what then? Striking targets on the ground that are not aircraft is going beyond enforcing a no fly zone.

It's time we defund the DoD and and all intel agencies. They've caused enough damage worldwide over the past several decades. All they do these days is create political upheaval to promote out of control oil speculation at the price of innocent lives when they move into the second phase after destabilizing a region and create evil immoral war. Enough is enough.
