ummm, did u look at the archives of those
reporting stations ??? The levels of radiation
fluctuate very lil from day to day, not even
more than .5 %. This is highly suspicious to me
since winds are always changing patterns,
they should vary a lot more than that over the course
of a day or so. The independents from black cat
also vary upwards of 40-50 points in a days time.
but your link above looks like it's hoaxed.
And I'm not referring to the spikes at all.
The readings there seem to be too complacent.
Almost as if somebody flipped the cruise control
button on to keep it all about the same number.

It's the only link I could find with Vegas listings even the radnetwork and blackcat I think were only showing CA and AZ but nothing specifically for Vegas.

I was referring to the cloud that was supposedly heading to Denver and then following the wind pattern to the Great Lakes.

I know about that incident and how they`re playing it down. Stockwell Day announced this afternoon that the govmt will make public access to info from 10 Ministries, and I`m keeping my fingers crossed on the monitoring information.

If a cloud comes all the way from Japan without losing it's radiation, then it is quite likely that it could traverse the USA without dropping it's radioactivity as well. That said I wouldn't want to be on the rainward side of any mountain ranges.

So let me get this straight. The radiation from these nuclear plants are supposed to make it all the way across the ocean, yet when we dropped two atomic bombs on them (which i am guessing had more radiation in them than what has leaked from the plants) wouldnt the radiation from them have followed the same jet stream and made it over here and make some headlines about mass deaths.

Wrong. A bomb core weighs pounds, and a reactor core weighs many tons.

The radiation from Fat Man and Little Boy did make it to the States and was documented by authorities. It caused a number of leukemia and other cancer cases worldwide due to stratospheric fallout.

If you lived in the last century, maybe you remember a little bald kid with a big head who died young- from leukemia. We used to see them all the time in the 1960's. One millionth of a gram of plutonium when inhaled will kill you- of course you don't really matter to the gov't, so no problem...

Could someone please confirm this? I live in the Great Lakes area. Also, please tell me if the radiation is low or something to worry about. Thanks.

The number refers to a high reading, .but this thread has put that particular reading in doubt.

I just came across this article from the Zimbabwe Mail:
www.thezimbabwemail.com...

Looks like the IKEA Government (I mean Swedish
) told Reuters that not only will the radiation reach North America, but it will eventually cover the entire northern hemisphere.

Wonderful! Now where did I put my duct-tape?

Exactly.

A nuclear explosion kicks up a hell of a lot of dirt into the atmosphere. The radiation clings to this dirt and creates nuclear fallout. These atomic 'shrooms' extend upwards of 20-30,000ft. I can understand the physics of this entering the jet-stream.

I do not understand how people expect a local explosion, maybe 1000ft high, to propel debris high and far enough to reach the jet-stream and consequently the US.

Like this you mean?

And Chernobyl only 'blew' a little- but it burned and steamed for a number of days. You can see from the pattern where it rained a great deal - the rain brought the particles back to earth. That is why it looks relatively clear in some areas even 2 miles from Chernobyl, while 100 miles away or several thousand miles away they suffered heavy fallout.

bombs are designed to expend their energy immediately, a core exposed to the open air is quite a different beast, and those were hydrogen bombs, if i am correct, and not uranium or plutonium.
