While the Helicopters are dumping water on the reactors in Japan, do they realize that water vaporizes after heated and will spread radio active water vapor throughout the local atmosphere?

Every time I seen a helicopter dump thousands of gallons of water on the reactors I though it was like pouring water on a wood stove made of cyanide (as a metaphor).

Does this make any sense?

And I don't get it.

It looks like a joke to me, like they're trying to put on some kind of show.

I posted this elsewhere, but it's akin to me walking up to a 1,000 acre forest fire, whipping it out, and peeing on the fire to put it out.
