Hi, nice to see that there are some people on ATS that like the music of Maynard as I do!

Here another two songs with maynard you possibly haven't heard:

"them bones" & "man in the box" of Alice In Chains (another great band, with maybe the only singer that could really compete with Maynard - Layne Staley - R.I.P.). Maynard played that song with AIC in 2005 on the band's benefit concert for the victims of the 2004 Tsunami.

I don't want to say that Maynard is my idol, because he'd hate for me to say something like that...but I hope that before I die, I hope I get to meet him. He is a genius when it comes to music and wine. I love all of his music, and I've been an APC fan longer than I've been a Tool fan (For shame, or so I'm told), and his music just gets me through things. I ordered his wine for my recent birthday. The Lei Li Rose was one of the best wines I've ever tasted. I plan on joining the Velvet Slippers Club soon, so that my bff and I can be gunfighter wine snobs. My best friend and I are also planning a trip to Jerome and Phoenix, AZ in July to see APC in concert, and to hit up the wine tasting room for all things Maynard.
I have a tattoo of my initials in the Elegant Myan text, and plan on getting another with something more meaningful in the near future.
I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this thread. If anyone's heading up to Jerome around the time of the Phoenix date, I'll see you there!

Music is magical by nature, it has the power to change moods, the power to soothe, to inspire change.
But what do we have today passing off as music? to what cheap merciless sons of whatever have we lost control of everything we consume, from entertainment to plain survival, what evil plan is this to make us all crave the empty accords of mainstream pop music.

Children growing up being unable to distinguish the hay from the gold.
Mr. Maynard knows this of course, his is the work of the the visionaries, uniting sound structures from far away lands, where music is still resonating with magic in the hearts of the listeners.

I believe Tool and Mr. Maynard to be not only brave but groundbreaking, the fact that they remain "out of the mainstream" and not considered semi deities is to me a clear indication of the impoverishment of our souls regrading everything.

My aim is to ride the spiral, willing it to be so, working hard to get it, Tool has helped me on my way, its still a long way but hey, I´v got all the time in the world before I die, I only wish more considered what Mr.M meant as a true alternative, he is not the only one speaking about reconnecting and recognizing what we are from what we have been told we were.
